Well the left 2013 is my Release Series 8.0, it has the body kits and special grill the regular tc's don't have. Plus numerous other additions.

The 2014 looks like they stole the RS 8.0 body kit styling, and then went for the evo front end look. I like the addition of the LED new headlights but thats it.

I love everything on that car but the rims. My co-workers buying a GT-500 this spring. So stoked to see it.

I worked at a tire shop once for 7 months, they are rims. Wheels are the the damn tires. Why do so many people get that wrong.
He's been saving up since 2010.

You tire shop is incorrect. A rim is the outer hoop of a wheel. With the tire, it is a wheel/tire assembly.

I have a co-worker who just got rid of one. He boughted used and was having clutch issues. It ended up being at the dealership most of the time because they couldn't fix the problem.

"Wheels" as your thinking are when you have the type of rims that seperate, then the "wheel" portion is the outer ring. Usually used in heavy equipment like tractor trailers or bobcats. When its a 1-piece solid used like in 99% of vehicles nowadays the whole thing is called a Rim.

I think that was the problem. It didn't have many miles on it so the dealer ended up taking it back. He has another on now but it's not the GT500.

It is called that incorrectly by people who have confused the nomenclature. A "rim" by definition is the outer edge of something. According to Meriam Webster, "the outer part of a wheel joined to the hub usually by spokes". It does not matter if the wheel is one piece or many joined.

Hmm... well then the industry doesn't follow the dictionary because whenever we order rims they were called rims in all the parts books & manuals.

Like I said, people bastardizing the terminology.

It's no different than any multi-faceted object. Take a camshaft for example. The whole thing is called a camshaft. The lobes are one part, the bearing surfaces are another, etc.

Wheels are the same way. The rim is the outer hoop, the disk (or spokes) is the connection to the hub, etc. Even the rim has separate parts, flanges, safety hump.

I know what people call them and what is popular, I am just stating what is correct.
