How is that baby doing? How are you and the misses holding up now that everyone is feeling better?

Her grandmother is coming by today to help out. My wife is having a little rough time with the baby's schedule (or lack thereof). Lack of sleep and such doesn't seem to affect me nearly as much as her. I think the baby is doing some cluster feeding at night which is keeping my wife up longer at night than she should be.

The best thing to do from the get go is get a routine down that is comfortable for you and the baby and continue that on into the toddler years. As hard as it is on you guys at times, that you have to be home by certain times for bed time, or feeding schedules, etc., it will pay off in the long run. Obviously she is still too young to ingrain it on her yet, but about the first month to next three start making sure she knows when it is bed time and when to eat (even if it is in the middle of the night) but that way everyone is on the same page. The things you do now will stick with them for years to come.

Without a doubt what works for one baby, may be the complete opposite for another, but we have had great success with making sure the kids' routine is consistent day in day out for the first year or so. Also, I HIGHLY encourage the Cry-Out (Ferber) method when she gets a little older for bedtime. It is excruciatingly painful for you to hear your baby crying because they want you, but again, the routine will be ingrained her for bedtime.

    Thanks, John.

Yeah, we're intending to instill some structure and routine into baby's life (we're both pretty structured like that), but like you said, she's probably too young for any of that to stick.

I agree it all depends on the baby, and there's too many variables for one right answer. It's like when we were in the birthing classes and such during her pregnancy with these people telling us what to do, how to do it and when and there were 18 different scenarios for each subject. I asked my wife, "Do we really need this?" How have people survived and prospered for thousands of years without classes to tell you how to do it? I'm pretty sure as natural beings that we can figure it out...

x2 Happy Birthday! Sucks that you're sick on your birthday, and with the flu of all things. I thought we were in the clear for that for this season.

Bullshit! Just because you can't go doesn't mean your rig can't. I'll trailer it out there and let Megan drive it. Thanks!

This is a great idea Zech! I agree with this, if it's put back together in time.

I have a buddy with a 300BLK reamer. I bought a blank and he is turning it down to the profile I want and reaming it. Interested in one? I can see what he would charge for one if you are.
