Wheels definitely are expensive. I debated for a long time over spending that much on wheels but I really couldn't find anything else I liked from the aftermarket.

Also, don't let your wife drive your truck. Mine scraped one of the wheels on a curb at the drive-up ATM and I had to order a replacement ring (the polished part around the rim of the wheel). They're >$100 each.

You could always order the Black TRD Trail Team wheels >$170+/-
I like the wheels that the dealer put on mine. ATX Series Mojave

Don't need to order anything else now, I already have those. :)

The black Trail Team wheels are fairly popular with Tacomas. I haven't seen another Tacoma with the wheels I bought so I'm happy with them.

    I like those too.

I wasn't sure how an all black wheel would look on the green truck though so I went with the gunmetal gray color.

^^ I love the countersteer offroads in matte black. They look sharp. I was actually looking at either the atx chambers (discontinued?), mojaves, or pro comp 7089s. I stumbled across these for sale from another member and couldnt pass up the package deal. Would've chosen 16s instead of 17s just because of more tire size choices, but I am very happy with them. Very simple design, yet stands out on a silver truck nicely.

BF Goodrich AT KO 265/75/16 on Wheelers 16x8 black steel wheels. ARB front bumper mounted with KC Day Lighter 100 watt halogen lights and 2" back-up firestik antenna. Cobra ltd 29 CB Radio with PA speaker mounted under the hood. In the bed: 2 bike Thule rack, spare tire, 5 gal. Gas tank, and my tool box all covered by a softopper shell. Main 3" Firestik is mount at the rear. She sits pretty, and runs like a champ.
I finally did my first real install on the truck, did a muffler swap for a flowmaster 40 series, sounds awesome! Took two hours with manual cutting tools. No hissing now to get it inspected. Still have more to cut because I'm getting new shackles soon. But feeling pretty damn good about it.

It's the J looking hook that is on the passenger side on TRD OR's. (not sure if other models have them)

I didn't have to take it off for my Demello but I don''t need it anymore and it looks goofy with a plate bumper.

Only the off roads have the tow hook that you are talking about. Sports and maybe SR5s come with some little flimsy POS there I believe.

I still have the stock tow hook on mine with the bumper, think it looks fine. Just another tow point if it gets down to that. What looks goofy is that stock skid plate paired up with that beast bumper. Get workin on upgrading your IFS skid! :p
