Newbie W/ Questions

Hello,
Just purchased a used 2008 Tacoma from CarMax and I have a few questions...
and yes I already did a search and couldn't find an answer.

1) With my headlights on, I turn off the truck,take the keys out open the door, shouldn't there be an alarm or bell reminding me my headlights are still on?

2) I have fog lights and when turned on I see no indication on the dash that they are on, should there be an indicator light on the dash?

This is not my first Toyota pickup, Ihad one many years ago... bare bones, nothing power, no AC, no power steering, you get the picture.

Hello and welcome.
1) on mine there is no alarm because if you let the lights on, as soon as the door is opened the lights turn off automatically. Not sure if all years are the same.
2)There is no indicator for fogs, just headlights.

 

X2. The lights shut off automatically and this should be on all years on the 2nd gens and I own a 2006. And no, there is no fog indicator.
