So when I hit the A/C button in my truck, I can't hear the compressor kick on. The green light goes on, but the air doesn't get cold. Any ideas what to check?

may be compressor or sensor. I bought my 2011 DC and my AC went out 4 days after I got it. The dealer sprayed so much engine dressing on it to make it look new and "pretty" that it got down into the compressor and fried the sensor. The dealer ended up spending like 4 grand replacing my already new AC system when they realized it was a 100 dollar sensor that was bad. Lol

But in your case I would check all wire connections and see if the AC compressor is good. It may be a fuse, bad wire connection, or corrosion of a wire.

Take a test light and see if you have power and ground signal to your compressor. If you do, your compressor is done(actually the coil isn't energizing). If it doesn't have power to the compressor, then it's a can of worms. Freon level, control panel, pressure switch, etc!!! First check what I first stated and report back

there is a little circuit board just beneath the glove box. I forget what it's called it's about 2" by 3" and I had too much stuff on the floor board piled up with the dog in the passenger seat and something must have forced it to break .. because when i replaced it . everything was fine

maybe called "thermistor" I'll try and check later. Its called the amplifier... you can run power to compressor to test it. Check the amplifier

If it's low on freon, the compressor will not run (trying to protect itself because there is oil in the freon).

Will one of those bottles of a/c recharge at the auto parts store fix the low freon?

I've always been hesitant on thoughs. There is a reason a set of gauges are required.

You can use a gauge with those and I completely agree that one is needed.

I assumed that you already tried that or checked the simple obvious........so if it isn't the compressor, fuse, or freon.............

check the amplifier( its a little circuit board under the passenger side glove/dash on my 2000 )
