So I fill up the taco today. I noticed it cost over $30 to fill it up. Just a few months ago it was more like $18. This pisses me off. I was listening to a financial show a few days back and there was a financial investment group claiming that a barrel of oil " should" be $75. Yes- let's just make bullshit up and make some claim that "X" SHOULD be costing $$$. So naturally when you make a statement like that, investors are naturally going to go buy the snot out of oil and well whadaya' know? Oil is $80 a barrel by the end of the week.

Something tells me that there's a number of oil execs in bed with some of these so-called investment groups that make such forward statements. Bull shit.

Its definitely creeping back up again. Actually, I would like to see it go way the hell up only for greedy personal reasons. Me and my Wife inherited an older Prius. Last year when gas was pushing $5, even the old Priuses were going for sometimes $10,000-$12,000 apiece. When gas went back down the value dropped to $3,500. I really don't like this car at all, so if we could get $10,000 again, I'd sell the thing and get something else.

I need to find another job closer to my home. This is getting expensive again. I'm paying about $300/month on gas now.

    +1

Our tanks hold about 20 gallons. (I've never completely run out, but two weeks ago I got as close as I ever have and the receipt said I put 19.866 gallons in the tank.)

If you were really filling completely up for $18 then you were getting gas around $1/gallon two months ago. I'm thinking that the jump from $18 to $30+ was a combination of the fact that you put more gas than normal in the tank and the increase in price.

Around here, gas got a little below $2/gal for a while, but it's around $2.50/gal now. It figures, too... it started going up the week after we sold my wife's 4-cylinder car for a V6 SUV. Oh well...

I drive the small taco. It only holds like 11 gallons. A few months back we actually had gas sitting at $1.60, which was unheard of. So yes, it was around $18, perhaps a little over. If you drive the V6 ( Which I assume 99.9% of the people on this forum drive), then yes- it would definitely cost more than $18.
