yea i know it is the other way for the 2.7l but he is saying 6 speed so the v6 4.0
My 2.7 manual gets shitty fuel economy but i smash on it and have lift with big tires i usually get 19MPG when stock it was a lot more

Which is interesting, because I got 23-25 MPG winter-summer on average in my 6spd manual and most of TW can't even break 19.

Damn I would love todo that swap in my DCLB. Absolutely love the truck, need four doors for the family, and need six-foot bed to carry motorcycles on a regular basis, otherwise I would've gotten the double cab short bed. It really is a shame you can't even order it in a mt setup. Just like the sunroof, I would've gladly paid extra money to get a mt or a sunroof in my truck. It really is a shame. If you do somehow figure out how to do this, please document it on Tacoma world as there are many others who would like to do it as well. If you were closer, I'd offer to lend a hand in the conversion myself when you're ready.

i wouldnt think it would be too hard just unbolt one and bolt the other in and maybe cut a bigger hole in the floor for the shifter.
also gonna need a center console that is for the manual transmission

Pretty much. My current body was an auto and I put it on a manual driveline haha

Bitch part will be the wiring. But that's just time consuming and a ton of swearing at Toyota connectors haha

yea that is a pain in the ass i hate those stupid connectors. the only thing worse is the connectors on aftermarket fuel injection kits. once those connectors are together they will never come apart again

If you're 2wd check out the RCD 4.5 inch spindle lift. Then throw some coil overs on at 2.5 and boom, 6 inches and much more capable then a drop bracket lift. Someone else will need to chime in about the rear though.

    I wish they offered a 6MT DCLB.

Sub'd for if you ever end up pulling this off.

I wonder if Tacoma will be even offered with manual in a DC once the 3rd gen finally arrives. I'm sure 4cyl will still have it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't available in DC or V6 altogether anymore.

    ill clear my schedule..haha

timing gears isn't that hard. and install of an ARB is supposed to be pretty easy too.

Still..not for the faint of hear or mechanically minded..

i am hoping to do 4.88 gears to mine this summer. Locker will come later as i can't afford them

No i did not do them. I was going to do it but then realized i did not have the right tools and know how. Plus people that were supposed to help me disappeared on me. I had Yotamasters install my stuff.
