Great idea! I'll give that a try, tonight. I actually had to go back to class right after pulling the diff tube, so I haven't done a thing since that picture of the broken jack shaft...
 They're still worth it!!! :D

    lol iknorite?
lol. I thought about trying to pull an April Fools joke saying that I'm keeping it and throwing 1 tons underneath, but I thought it would be too weird since a lot of people don't believe that I'm even selling it!

I have mine reinforced with angle iron too and I think I may have very minorly bent mine... I got a little high centered on a ledge so I bumped it a little and hit hard but to no avail and had to take the bypass. Well a little later we noticed a rattling noise from the engine and pinpointed it to my y-pipe which is now in contact with that skid and making the rattling noise. Doesn't appear bent but I can't imagine I broke the y-pipe since it is protected behind the skid and supported by rubber on the hangers. haha

Nope. I really don't think it is overkill, although it really comes down to how you wheel. If they aren't going to see much then 3/16" or less might just be fine, but what you and I will throw at our rigs we need a little more. haha

Damn man. I like the crossmembers and bracing.

    However I'm going 1" UHMW I think...hopefully be lighter.

I don't think it is any lighter from what I have read (haven't confirmed though). Will be slicker though!:D

How are you bracing it? The UHMW will flex if hit hard enough and not braced.

    Thanks, bro!

UHMW will be sweet!!!!!!! So many benefits over steel or aluminum.

You might as well make some boatsides while you've got the UHMW.....
