Little tip about the rmv . If you fill out the paperwork online and print it out . You skip all the people sitting and waiting . The paperwork has a bar code and the person at the check in desk just scans it. Right to the front of the line you go .

It can be fun for sure. But a house with fire damage succkkksss, so dirty. I would much rather be framing than doing demo, it gets old

I like demo as well..done 3 rooms of my house, although carrying it all outside isn't the fun part. I still remember lugging 25 bags of drywall to the curb in the middle of winter for my spare room.

Same here. When I demo'ed the guest bath, it was a mud job from the 50's with tile on all walls to about waist height and a complete tile surround in the shower, all with wire lapth. I hauled it all out in a trash can to dump in the dumpster. Complete PITA but worth it because I have a new bathroom

Mine had to go out in bags, dragged through the backyard to the curb. I'm sure I lost a couple of bags and contents in the process too. UGH

I don't mind it, I'd rather do that than work in a nice, pristine home where you have to watch out for every little scuff on the wall and can't get things dusty, etc.

I don't think you can afford me :D

So... it sounds like everyone should have broken in their gears when the trucks were new, huh?

You guys should look into the Bagster next time. Just throw everything in and they come and pick it up when you're done. Much cheaper than a metal dumpster also.

Nope, we have it all in a storage container. Everything was copper, we have 3 full trashcans of it. Thats the first thing we do when we get a demo job.

No idea mike . I just know that this last break cost me a pretty penny so I'm taking all precautions to not F my truck up .

I used a bagster. I think all in it was around $200($25 for the bag, $175 for them to pick it up). I initially wanted to bring it to the dump in y tacoma but quickly realized that wasn't happening. I had the bagster overflowing and they took it without a problem

Do you get to keep anything you find?
I saw a show on tv I forget the name but demo teams bid for a job then get to keep anything they find . One house in nh was a patriots players house that caught fire . They found tons of sports memorabilia worth a boat load of money .

Same here, I used 4 of them when I demo'd a few rooms in my house. As long as the handles can touch at the top, they'll take it. I was filling them in my back yard and using the truck to drag them around to the front. We had one so overflowed that we used 2 trucks to pull the handles together at the top, wire tied them in place and left it. Guy came the next day and took it no problem :D

They were $35 to buy the bag at ACE and around $110 for each pickup. I now just load up my trailer and go to the Braintree transfer station. They are cheap and will take anything.

I'm surprised you went with the 8" rear again. I would have thought you'd try to find an 8.4" and swap it in.
