Well.... went on a little off roading trip last weekend and somehow the clutch went out on me. $900 later have a new clutch but the damn thing still will not go into reverse. The dealership put a new tranny on order today. I hate to say it boys and girls but if i have anymore trouble out of my truck i will be trading it in. Has anyone heard of anybody else having any trouble out of there tranny in these 2nd gens???

oh yeah and its an 2006 with 50K on it.... just to throw that in there

Wow... $900 seems steep as hell. I could get a 6 puck drag clutch for my 3000GT for about 550. Granted, that's not installed but figure about 3 bills for install... yea.

I have an auto and fairly new truck so can't comment on reliability.

How big was your "little off roading trip"? Also how many miles do you have on the truck?

Any idea what the previous owner towed? Is it possible they beat the hell out if and you are stuck with the results?

Then why trade it in? If you can fix it all should be good  No good making it seem like the truck is failing you if it was over driven by the previous owner.

Understandable, however that is kind of the risk of used car buying. YOu never know what was really done with the vehicle until you start having to repait them. I have had trucks in the past that scarred the hell out of me when I dug into them on repairs, some of the "workmanship" can be appauling by former owners.

Yeah...There comes a point you gotta cut losses.
I rebuilt a super charged motor once on a truck...it started to go again and I know it was set up correctly cause I did the majority of the work and had two guys i trust alot looking over everything I did...and it still had issues.
