    not a trap.

despite all the blustering, ALL superpowers agree on one thing. keep commerce alive, and any new war would seriously increase damage to
everyone's already weak economic and financial footing...

there will be no support for NK if they pop a gasket. China, Russia, and USA
will align and shut them down at all costs (already aligning as we speak)

top generals from US, China, Russia, UK are already having meetings and more are scheduled

no one in a position to make decisions thinks it would be a good idea to back NK

So get this, the UN has passed more sanctions, embargoes, etc... Against North Korea, but the most recent one was passed unanimously by the permanent security council, not one of them pleaded neutral to it, how often does it happen that the permanent security council all agrees on something

Not so sure on what the superpowers agree on - I damn sure don't believe anything the Russians or Chinese have to say.

My original thought was the norks know they are backed into a serious corner, which would pretty much equal the end of what they know if they where to try something. That begs the question as to why...Every leader thinks thier country is great, but even the stupid ones know when they would get their ass kicked - especially in this day and age...so why do it? Unless there is something behind the scenes we don't know about...

It's been proven that Iran and NK are sharing/trading/buying/selling/whatever amongst each other to include weapons...and Iran has their hand in a lot in the M.E. So, whats to stop two stones from rolling downhill?

And then there is China - did I read correctly that they have been steadily mobilizing their border w/ NK? Now why would they do that? NK won't attack them...unless they are either afraid that we will enter NK and push to the Yalu or they are betting on us entering so they can march south? And, they are getting quite testy and flexing some muscle in the Pacific, too...

And, lastly, why are we building forces in the Pacific? Something to think about...

i know this lol, if done right, they could be very effective...I'm not saying that it is a good idea though...effective doesn't mean good

but anyways, isn't one of the big reasons that the UN isn't all that effective is because any country on the permanent security council can veto anything, so it has to be either universal yes, or some yes and some not voting. I just find it surprising that China, Russia, and the US all agreed on something (and the others as well)

I also find it odd that they can agree on anything, much less something of this magnitude. But, I recall from reading about Japan's behavior before WWII - snakes in the grass!

But first, when has the UN been effective at anything?

Hell no...it was just a thought about the norks and what their thinking is...
They have talked a big talk and have no chance of winning, or breaking even, without outside help...with that said, they have put themselves in a position as to either back down and lose face or go forward. Losing face, especially with a new regime out to prove itself, might be too much for them to handle...

dirty nuke US interests such as bases and allies

no way can they launch an explosive, but they could render
vast swaths uninhabitable (sub-orbital dirty nuke)

IIRC, they have to capability to hit SK, Japan, and other interests in the region. While they most likely (and do we want to hedge bets on most likely?) don't have the ability to deliver a full nuke, a dirty bomb wouldn't all that hard... Effective? Probably more on the panic level, but still nonetheless...

Everyone seems so wrapped up around conventional delivery means (i.e missile). I'd be more concerned with them making connections with terrorist groups and either selling them off or finding a more effective means of delivering said nukes. The real and obvious threat is within the Korean peninsula, Osan & Kunsan Air Bases and whatever other bases/posts the other branches may have over there. I never understood bringing families over to Osan, I was at Kunsan and was glad my family was state-side.

I don't remember ever saying they don't have the capability of hitting SK or Japan or US bases in the same countries

^This. They have many ways at their disposal for delivering those types of weapons - from container ships to their subs...who said it has to be via missile? Hell, even Iran could use their subs they brought from NK to do the same thing. Like you, I feel that everyone is too concerned with conventional delivery methods...

According to the news we have tracked them moving "1" conventional, medium range missle to their East coast the past 24 hours.....Calling for 10 to 14 days before it is set up & capable to fire. It has the range to hit Japan but not Guam or Hawaii.

What a fuck nut, he knows we can see every move.....hasn't he played Call of Duty, Black Ops or Modern Warfare?!

That one is either to divert attention, or maybe as another "test" - which would be his way of saying "look at me"...This guy is certifiable, thats for sure...It still strikes me as something odd going on, though...

You play Black Ops 2 on xbox?
