This is true, plus if one was to get a Ham ticket ( license) you could expand your frequency range and options.

either way, the price is the deal maker...

 

Scosche or whatever it is..but i recommend the metra kit, I guess with the metra kit you're able to use the stock metal clips which will hold up better on the long run.. with my schosche kit the clips are plastic and have broken on the left side. because of that the whole kit with both radios will sometimes pop out on some of the bigger hits. I have a used metra kit but I'm too lazy to swap it over lol

 

A Kenwood 281 also mounts cleanly in the phone tray on automatics. I have pictures in my build thread of mine dropped right into that tray, once it is dremelled out.
