how does a company that specializes in building polar vehicles over look the opportunity to strengthen and enhance the performance of the front end? I mean REALLY you would think they would have researched different set ups and have a good idea on shock usage. Maybe there is something we are missing here? They linked the rear end on coils but left the front pretty standard. Don't get why.

 

they went with standard body shocks too...

I guess it's jizzfreezingly cold out there, but if my shocks get too hot to touch after a few hours of trail riding, I wonder how shit their shocks were after 40 hours

 

I didn't watch it.... but it almost sounds like that other show "One Car too Far" - was nothing more than a big jeep commercial. The only good thing about it was - they used a 10 year old jeep with only a slight lift and bigger tires.

This show?? One big Toyota commercial??

Someone else already mentioned it.... Who's the dumbass who jumps a truck with stock suspension on it? What appears to be a fully modified truck - isn't as modified as it should've been. Did someone run out of budget?

Looks neat.... will have to DVR it.

 

Maybe the private party that ordered the truck didn't think they needed it??

Watching the two episodes now. Apparently someone told the ex-Lotus engineer the stock front end was "bomb-proof"

I'm 3/4 the way through watching the first episode. Some TW members prepare more for wheeling trips through the woods than these guys...

Interestingly, the truck seems to be doing well in the low temps. Engine started up fine after being cold soaked for two days while the crew flew back to weld the cracked rim. Probably using OEM coolant, too, since it's rated for -56C.

 

So they jump the truck with a spacer lift hard enough to crack the spacer...

 

Did you see the last episode where they took 3 old American 4x4s to the top of the Iceland volcano? terrible...

Interesting. Those appear to be Prado 120 shocks, Koni PN 88-1712, 2.5" dia. They cost about $700 a pair.
