Yup . Didn't have time to wait for them to change it so I guess it's a good excuse to paint the drums and calipers now.

Love that tall cap...too bad they don't do that style for the short beds like I have :( Can't wait to get one...searching for a used one has been pretty unsuccessful...and can't afford a $1500 new one at the moment.

I've done this before! My left knee sometimes hits the button and one day I spent a good 10 minutes sitting in the driveway with a "What the hell?" attitude while frantically pressing the window buttons. Then came the "duhhhh" moment when i realized the kill button was pressed!

Put my hitch on today with Jon.

What should have been a 15 minute job turned into over 5 hours.

    Welcome to my world.

We also flushed my brake fluid.

Give me a moment... I just saw his headlights pull away... headed towards you.

Went to remove the two torx bolts under the bumper to install the hitch and the passenger side one didn't budge. PB blasted it, let it soak... still didn't budge. Eventually stripped the head.

So we went into town and got an extractor (the one I have is too small and meant for screws). Drilled out the stripped bolt, inserted extractor and snapped it off in the bolt.

Went to my neighbor's house, borrowed his larger extractor... tried drilling out the broken extractor... didn't work. Decided we would remove the outermost bolt under the bumper and just weld a plate on the receiver and drill a hole through the plate and bolt it up that way. The outermost bolt wouldn't budge. Strip that head. Drill out that head, insert my neighbor's extractor and snap that one in half.

    Say fuck it.

Get the grinder and dremel and cut out the chrome and decide to weld the facking hitch to the bumper.... took us a couple of hours to get a hold of my friend and drive to his place to get the welder.

Finally welded the biatch to the bumper where it would normally bolt up.

    Welcome to my world.

Oh and when we cut off the chrome piece... and insane amount of mud and rocks was crammed in the void. Unbelievable. The threads on those two bolts are probably corroded to the point of fusion.

Yeah i got real lucky on that one. Went to buy the truck last week a few hours away and found the cap on craigslist for $100 in the same town. Bought the truck, had the shell on a 30 minutes later and headed home. Had it painted at a friends shop for a few hundred more, still came in under what most used ones are going for around here.

LOL, I think I have done worse though. A few years back when I first got my truck, I put in neutral to roll down the slight hill in my driveway when I got home, put the e-brake on, and shut the engine off. I had sat there and did something before I shut it down and forgot that I left it in neutral, so I was like WTF!! Why won't my key come out!?

So after trying to get it out for like 5 minutes, I just get out figuring that its jammed in there and will have to be professionally removed. Go back a few minutes later, start it up, look down and realize how retarded I am.

hahahahahahahahaha now THAT is a good one! My grandma does this allll the time, except she just remembers to put the car in park after about 5 seconds! The steps:

    1. turn off engine
    2. shift from drive to park
    3. bring your hand back up to the key again and take it out.

I just sit in the car like

haha...same thing when discount tire put my MB tko's on. Luckily, the center caps for the tko's are mounted on the outside w/ allen screws.

I mentioned it to the sales guy and he said to just take them on and off every time I lock my hubs... I guess he doesn't know how often I lock and unlock my hubs. :D

Wow! That was a deal for you! Can I ask how much it cost to paint it? I'm thinking if I end up with a used one, I'll most likely run around being "two tone" for a while until I can paint it or trade for the right color.

Also, how much hardware is involved? I ask because if I end up picking up a used one...possibly without hardware, I was wondering if the clamps that are holding on my ZipRail tonneau cover frame would work for a cap...at least long enough for me to get home with it.

This is pretty much what the clamps look like (and there are three per side): http://www.autotrucktoys.com/chevy_...erado-Bestop-ZipRail-Soft-Tonneau-Cover-E.jpg

Need to fill my tires up for highway driving...

I have BFG TKO ATs in 265/70/16s..And I'll be towing a trailer 100 miles. I have them set at 34psi right now, but I think filling them up more would be good for the highway.

    Any suggestions?

C rated tires? 35-40 is good. I have E rated tires and run them at 50 if I'm making a long highway trip with a big load.

Probably the same then. Depends on what the max pressure is. I think its 65, but 40 shouldn't be pushing it.
