Vibration/whirring noise after maintenance

I have no idea whats going on with my truck, and I haven't had the opportunity to take it to the dealer yet. I have a 2007 TRD Off-road 4x4 that has about 97,000 miles on it. I do regular maintenance, and have not really abused this truck at all. It was an insurance replacement for my previous LT tacoma (same model year), that was t-boned by someone running a light. Anyway to the point I haven't modded this truck yet at all, I have some plans as I am looking at a new daily driver.

The fact is I recently took in the truck for 90,000 mile maintenance at the dealer, and my problems began. Basically the only real noise the truck made before was like a plastic rattling noise when the engine reved or when driving at high speeds (I think it was just the dash) because usually hitting the dash in the right spot solved the problem. Now having gotten the maintenance, there is a whirring or rattling noise with acceleration and revving (sounds like when you vibrate your tongue in your mouth and exhale) and causes a vibration (sorry for the bad description). To me it sounds maybe like a slightly loose belt or something (I assume they replace or adjusted belts with the service).

What do you think?

Yeah but I dont really know how tight they should be?

 

I just brought mine into the dealer. I had a whirring noise when my foot is on the gas.

It ended up being the tensioner. Tensioner pulley? It was under a lot of stress(about to snap). Dont know why as mine is only 2 yrs old. But gonna try and find out more when i pick it up

 

Awesome thanks man, that sounds exactly like what is going on with mine. Its driving me insane. I use my truck like a truck so it has definitely been driven hard even though its treated like a princess and is pristine condition. Let me know what you here I will probably take mine in in the next couple days as well.

Btw nice truck and G-wagon in your album pictures, I am about to get a new Range Rover but i looked at the G (my mom used to have one).

Its my boss' 78 Ge 250. Such a beast of a truck. Its a toy for him now as he has a new one too. Areas where im slowing down on a trail, hes ripping through. Crazy!

 

Nice man, I can imagine I love my tacoma but the offroad capability mercedes and land rover pack in their cars is unreal. On second thought I guess land cruisers are pretty similar. I am super excited about the new range rover its supposed to be incredible off road (has a super advanced traction system)
