How do you roll a stop sign with manual car?

hey guys, i've been driving stick for about 5 weeks now and i have a question. i know that rolling stop signs are bad and should not be done, but i know everyone does it because it saves more time. anyways, if i am driving like at night or in a place where there is no one, i want to know how to roll stop signs. say i am going 40 mph in 4th gear and i put it into neutral. what should i do next when i get to the line? since i am going to fast for 1st gear, can i just put it into 2nd gear? every time i do this, my car starts lugging and i wasn't sure if it was right or not. i wanted to see what you guys do in this situation. thanks a lot!

 

Don't roll stop signs at all. You will either get a ticket or hurt someone.

i do it to never had a problem. the lugging is because your in to high of a gear. i also started out from a dead stop in second that wil just wear the clutch out quicker. " bad habits are hard to break" quote hank williams jr. its true im sure others will better help you. but i hope this sheds some light.

Less things to know if you just stop and start again...You know how to do that.

I don't roll stop signs- and I listen to the engine and know what it wants as far as gear goes all the other times...Learning how to drive stick takes time with a knowledgeable skilled driver in the truck with you.

Please tell me you're kidding?? Stop signs are meant to be STOPPED at, not rolled through....

If you are that bad on a manual tranny, they have places called "driver training" and I'm sure they will help you out for a fee....

 

but do you ever roll past doughnut shops?
