I guess better then nothing. It could be worse, you could live in a big city where there isn't even parking lot grass to drive through.

Awesome pics in here, 4 banger pride! Seems to be no love for them on this site and the V6 is over-glorified by everyone, idk why, I think the 4 banger is a exceptional motor and does just fine. Haters gonna hate I guess.

They didn't make a v6 single cab first gen that I know of, and the reason for the whole 4cyl vs v6 I heard that some vehicles get better mpg with a v6 :notsure: something about less strain on the engine to move the vehicle. I don't know if it's true but I guess it's possible.

yeah they didnt pay too much attention but i mean its a base model vehicle. Its not really meant to be fancy, more budget friendly. and honestly I would hate a short bed on my reg cab, i barely have enough room for my stuff in the cab haha stuff has to get thrown in the back all the time. I know if i had chosen my truck it would have probably been an access cab atleast.

You and me both, but I'd get another access cab, I need that extra cab behind me for my tools and winter supplies. I love V8s, I almost went 4Runner for that reason, but needed the truck bed. I still love my 4 banger though, it is an impressive little motor. Compared to my buddy's old 89 Mazda B2600 4x4, it is a hot rod; that thing was miserably gutless but tough as nails, he couldn't kill that motor no matter how hard he tried. Shame he got rid of that truck.

Sounds like u need to learn how to drive to save gas before u talk shit about the 4 banger. I get 20 mpg in an AC with 33" mud tires and about 800#s extra added to my truck plus I drive more on the highway and I drastically reduced my aerodynamics with my lift and bumpers. AND that's with stock gears. I can't wait to put my gears in and get 23-24 mpg again. I see people on here all the time claiming they get 27-28 with the 2.7. There are numerous things that go into getting good gas mileage and just because YOU don't doesn't mean that it can't easily happen.

There is a guy in the TN thread that gets 12 mpg in his 6cyl with 33" all terrains and completely stock body. Does that mean that all 4.0s get 12 mpg? No. I see a lot of people on here that get 20 mpg in the 4.0 with it stock and then do lift and tires and get 16. It is what it is. That's like my buddy bought a 2012 ecoboost f150 and got 21 when it was stock and tried to make fun of me cause he got better gas mileage with a v8. I told him to wait till he put a lift and tires on. Sure enough he does a 3" lift and two tire sizes bigger and is now getting 16 mpg. Now add the equivalent bumper and armor mods that I have to his truck and he's gonna get 12-13. All of a sudden its not so funny that I get 20 mpg in my 4 banger.

And as far as you saying the 4.0 is a "better" motor then the 2.7 ...... Well I can't really talk shit about an opinion.

The 95.5-97 reg cab came with a v6 option that's the only one u know of. Looked high and low for one but couldn't find one, so settled for the 4cyl.

I didn't buy mine for v-8 power. I've had many v-8 trucks/cars. I got mine because the single cab 4cyl is a monster off road!!!

And I do 80-90 MPH just fine, roaring with my tires. I love it

And I get around 20mpg if I keep around 70 and about 18 at 80-90. I drive around 100 miles a day. I bought mine with 1 mile(aug2012) and it now it has 27000(april2013) before lift it was getting 22-24.

Well if you truly knew Toyota you would know that a single cab 4x4 go off road very well. I'm not taking anything away from the other tacos I love them all but the shorter and lighter you are the better you go.

And for pictures I usually always end up in the woods after dark. Trust me I have redneck pinstripes all over my truck, and no paint on the bottom of my bumper. I can go take pictures of that for ya if ya want? I'm no fucking poser I promise that!

So you are saying that you can't learn how to save gas!? Hahahahaha once again, just because YOU "can't" do something doesn't mean that it can't easily be done. And you mean to tell me that you only drive at 65 mph!? So you hop in the truck and crank it and you are instantly doing 65 and then shut it off and instantly back to 0?? Sounds like you watch to much Star Trek. And I guess if you want a "man's" truck then sell your fuckin truck and get one! I don't need a v8 to try and compensate for the fact that I don't feel "man enough". I have a dick. That makes me a man! Sounds like you have a personal problem. And what would a v6 do in your truck, besides give u more hp and worse gas mileage? Make it faster? That's about it. It wouldn't increase towing capacity, it wouldn't make it look any better, it wouldn't change the ride quality, etc ..... It might get you more bitches, if a stock 4.0 turns them on for some strange reasons. These are all YOUR opinions. Don't try and make me feel bad about my truck just cause you feel bad about yours.

How do u know I'm not relaxed? And come at him with what? All I did was point out that he has his own opinions about stuff just like everyone else. So he states his opinions and nobody says anything, then I tell him my opinions on the exact same thing and I'm categorized as a "typical TW member". Sounds like some people can't handle a discussion or differences in opinions. I said nothing bad towards him or anyone else. I got bad rep from 2 people before because of this same shit. Makes no fuckin sense.
