That's terrible, hits close to home. Fun is fun but hopefully safety still comes first... an important reminder for all of us. Most severe accidents tend to happen because someone was not buckled. No idea if that's the case here, doesn't really matter, it's a shitty thing. Sorry to hear about your friend man.

Hit the nail on the head my friend. I have the bad habit of not buckling offroad, that changes from now on.

Thats terrible. Its also a big reality check. I intentionally take my seat belt off as soon as i hit the dirt so its not constantly locking up on me. Maybe not the best idea.

Same... can't stand being strapped in. That said I'll usually buckle when I'm in a tippy or drop-off situation. Usually. I need to be better about this. I know a dude from Tucson who died rolling into a ravine at night about 4 years ago.

Not to divert things but a couple months ago I was in the White Tanks kinda stuck on the edge of a drop-off. It was wet/muddy and was pointed up so steep I could not pull the belt out! With shovel, moving a couple giant rocks, and luck, I was able to carefully back down without flopping over the edge. Granted it was only about 20-25 feet over the edge but still a pants-shitting experience.

So my truck was so scratched up from this trail, a few places all the way through the clear coat, that it cost me almost $500 for a multi-stage paint correction and machine polish, then paint sealant. Took the dudes a little over 8 hours and you can still see some minor scratches.

But the truck looks so much better now and I don't cringe every time I look at it :)

Yeah I felt it was too much as well, but I figured if I was going to have it done I might as well have it done right. Like I said, they didn't just wash and wax it. They actually did a multi-stage paint correction, then machine polish, then paint sealant. They were working on my truck for a little over 8 hours.

$500 to buff a truck? What a ripoff. I just leave my truck dirty, looks better that way and the scratches earn rep points with most everyone. Usually I get "holy fuck you actually use your truck!"
