hey there, I just picked up an '05 Regular Cab Prerunner and am damned excited about getting some tires and rims on the sucker. Ideally, i'd like to have maybe a set of 32x11.5's on black Rock Crawlers (Series 51).

Am I going to run into some serious rub issues with a set up like this? How wide or narrow do the wheels have to be? Thanks a lot for any and all help.

    Sincerely,
    Jim

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
you will need a minimum of a 16" rim to start....then the largest wheel to run will be a 265/75/16. you can run this size on stocks w/ no prob, but if you plan on getting a lift and larger tires later on, i'd go ahead and get rims w/ a 4.5" backspacing to accomidate those larger tires later

Thanks jhodge83. Your truck is a god dang beast! I called a tire store out here in LA and they said they might be able to fit 275's with some minor trimming. Not sure though. Maybe i'll stick with the 265's to be on the safe side . . .

265's are max on the stock wheels and without lift. I'd say some 16x9 wheels with 5" BS or 16x8 with 4.5" BS is what you would want to look for in an aftermarket wheel. Check the tire manufacturers site for approved rim sizes for the tire you want to get and make sure the size you get falls within there.

Thanks RelentlessTaco. I'm definitely getting aftermarket wheels. Nothing too fancy, just some black rock crawlers maybe . . . If I'm on aftermarket wheels and have the shop do some judicious trimming will 275's fit or is a lift mandatory for anything past 265 regardless of wheels? Btw thanks a bunch fellas. I feel like I should buy a round for everyone . . .
