Tranny shifts down quickly on decel

It is a normal characteristic of the Tacoma

 

LIke that on lots of forums. Plenty of guys that get their 'knowledge' from reading the forums.

Disconnected the battery for an hour while I cleaned the throttle body and all is much better now. Acts like a normal tranny. Engine braking.
Curious what driving behavior results in the tranny learning to downshift unnecessarily?

So I assume the end result here was this transmission computer had E - learned that this truck was taught to downshift by the owner ?
i know for sure that Toyota,s learn upshifting but downshifting ??????

 

When I bought my tacoma in 09 I joined this forum and read about the tsb's for transmission re-flash and rear leaf springs. They re-flashed the transmission when I complained about how it would shift down in a turn and the rpm's were too high on exit. It took less than an hour and I've been happy ever since. I had to fight a little harder for the leaf springs.
