How do you figure? If it didn't effect light output they wouldn't put reflectors in the first place. Just look at any Rigid product...

You don't paint the reflector bowls when you do the BHLM

Uh, BHLM paints the bezel AKA trim piece, has nothing to do with the reflector bowl

You aren't painting the reflective part.. you still have your reflective bowls. I'm the case of Anthony where he painted his bowls he has projectors not regular lights. Meaning the lights project not reflect therefore the black bowls wouldn't hurt his light output

I think he was referring to how Anthony painted his bowls as well. Refer to my last post tho

I realize and understand that the standard BHLM you don't paint the reflectors but if you read the original question it was asked...

Thanks for the replies guys. To clear up my question a little, I understand that with traditional lights the reflector bowls are required. I plan on installing a TRS projector kit for the main headlights before painting the main bowl black(I think it looks killer this way!). What I was asking in particular is, whether or not painting the Parking light and DTRL/Turn signal light bowl portions of the headlight would affect the performance of those lights in a severely negative way. What led me to ask this question is that it appears that in Datsik's headlight pic during his retrofit roughly 1/2 way down the first page of his build posting, he painted the entire reflective surface of his headlight black during his retrofit. It might be taped over on the Parking & DTRL/Turn surfaces but it is very hard to tell from the picture. Let me know what y'all think, or if anyone has experience with Chris' LEDs in a blacked out reflector bowl (Parking - DTRL's/Turns).

    Thanks

Hey brother, I noticed you had a few questions about the headlights and I apologize for not clearing things up sooner, I've been busy as usual. Like it has been said, I painted the bezel black originally to get the basic BHLM. Since upgrading to projectors I found that there was no need for the reflector bowl, so I had them painted black. The turn signal/DTRLs were painted black as well because I decided to throw in some LEDs which were much brighter in comparison to the OEM bulbs. In my opinion, if you are running projectors and LEDs, you don't need any reflectors and can paint it all black. Please keep in mind this is not legal by any means, but it looks damn good to me :D

Thanks brother, looking forward to wheeling more.

    Thanks man!

    Thanks brother, I appreciate that!

How did you fit a full size 33? Do they rub a lot when wheeling? I would love to be able to run a full size 33.

If I get the time before I head out I'll have to take those pics lol. Thanks brother :D

They rub a little bit but mostly if I hit big bumps going 40+ The rears rub a tiny bit when I'm flexed haha but they hold up pretty good. I have it lifted just over 2" which I love where it's at. I'm just going to buy another set of tires that are 255/85 for wheeling

Me too, but it got detailed 15 minutes after I got back -_-

    haha

    LOOK FLASHY, GET NASTY :)

Thanks brother! They don't rub at all daily driving just a bit here and there when wheeling. I just take it slower than others, I know exactly what I need to trim for everything to clear just fine but I don't have time at the moment lol...
