Turns out I dont have Towing package

Well I figured out about 3 weeks ago that the 07 TRD prerunner DC I purchased did not include the "towing Package" I was led to belive it had. (it was clearly listed as a option that came with the truck)

I was putzing around this website and stumbled upon a list of what is included with the towing package. (Cant find it now)

I have used the search function with no luck, I need hlp finding a link or something that lists what comes with the towing package. I can list or rattle off what should be included, but I am looking for some official type document to beable to bring back to the dealership.

I already talked to the dealership and after they told me that the line that after they ran the vin. I do have the tow package. I looked at it and it said "tow Hitch". I was like can we verify that it has the tranny cooler, or the beefier alt.

long story short....i dont have the package, and was told they would make it right.

Just need to make sure I have documentation to back it up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

That's odd. I always thought that all TRDs had them.

 

Did you view all the option on line? If do, can you remember what date? May be use the IE history can find it, it still have the files on your pc. Hope this help.

 

quickest way to determine if you have a tow package is to look for a pink shaft behind the engine fan clutch... no, I am not joking.

Tow package:
Class IV hitch, engine cooler, tanny cooler (at only), heavy dut batt, 130 amp alt, 7 pin connector...

I am reading the above right out of a tacoma brochure, bottom of the "specifications" page. Used to be on the specs part of the website also.

Interesting.. a buddy who knows all things tacoma told me that was the way to tell. I stand corrected then.

 

I think the pink fan clutch shaft is a 1st Gen thing...

MIne has the pink fan and towing pkg .so whats the deal here some do some dont.

a pink shaft huh? thats kinda akward mines more white
but its not the fan its the extra tranny cooler that sets in front of the radiator.

 

Maybe whoever you bought it from put TRD stickers and wheels and tires on and tried to sell it to you as a TRD. Do you have the E-Locker?

 

I'd tell them to give me a different truck..too much missing to make up with a couple of add ons.

I got the dealer to print out the factory installed options and it is a TRD w/ factory installed hitch, but no towing package.

I do have a locker, ect.
