    Thanks Ian!

And I know  especially since I'm not locked. Was one of my mod goals of the year so glad to check that one off!

    Next project..well large one..is skids.

Gonna look into a bit more of the heavy plastic stuff. Might just go for steel though.

But I have a lot of maintenance to do. Have two seals leaking and need an oil change and fuel filter change.

UHMW plastic. Self lunbricating and just skids right over stuff.

    Expensive though.

Not super as you run thicker stuff. So like 3/8s or 1/2 thick.

Is lighter then 1/4" steel though.

    Thanks man! :D

Yes it is. It's lighter then 1/4" plate steel. Doesn't rust. Doesn't need painted. And slides like butter over stuff.

Getting very popular to use as skids.

    Haha you had that before!

Lol well could be possible. I just have to get a couple sheets. Belly pan will be super easy. The front though will take some forming. Which I need to look at how to mount it. But shouldn't be too hard.

And not sure about the tranny skid to connect the two yet...

I think ill order the stuff and just kinda go with it and see what happens. Haha

Belly pan though for sure will be UHMW though

Cool lol. I wonder how well it would hold up. I've heard of the budbuilt belly pans bending, I wonder if the plastic would need some reinforcing to prevent that. I feel like the plastic wouldn't just bend, it would just crack and break. I like the no painting or rusting part though lol.

Well I plan on have a crossmember behind it.

Then run two or three supports up to the stock tcase crossmember. That'll keep it from cracking. But they are supposed t bend a little before cracking.

    Time will tell though haha

And yea. No painting and rusting is awesome.

That's a good plan, I think some reinforcement will be necessary whether you go with steel or the plastic

    Yep no doubt.

But the UHMW will be a bit lighter. Hopefully...

Not that I care much about weight at this point. Already a pig haha

I think even if they weigh similar and have similar strength, the fact that the plastic won't rust or need painting is a huge benefit and I would rather have the plastic for my truck since roadsalt is used a lot here in Ohio and would require more maintenance with steel

    Very true.

Sadly the crossmember will still be steel..but..least it won't be as abused. So chances of rusting are low.
