D'oh! 7.62x51 is 7.62 NATO. Ignore me, I've had a long day. If you don't yet own an AR15 in 5.56 I would save your money & wait for one of those. Inventory levels are slowly starting to come back up so be patient.

I've got some AR's in .308 and I'm not saying it's a bad system. You should just start with an AR in 5.56 if you don't yet have one. FAR more versatile and if you end up running a class, competition, course, extended self defense situation you'll be glad you did. They're lighter, have less recoil and run more reliably than their bigger brothers. Not to mention parts are easier to find and more universal. But, it's your money.

I've really only shot the 17gr ammo since it's what is available in bulk locally, but do have a box or two of the 20gr ammo that I need to try.

Next project for the .17hmr is to shorten and thread it for my SWR Spectre.

    Here's my CZ452 .22lr with suppressor.

I get those Sigs for $1500 but they won't be available until September or some time around there.

Good price here, not in stock of course. The 6920 is one of the best AR-15's available.

Bought one of these this weekend - new in box Kimber 82 Gov't. Photo isn't mine. Pulled the stock, cleaned out a bunch of gunk, oiled it up, cleaned the bore and adjusted the trigger as light as it would go. Trigger is pretty great - no creep or overtravel. Thinking of putting a Weaver 36x target scope on it. Hopefully it shoots as great as everyone says it should.

Great firearm, will serve you well. I do not trust SiG as much as I used to since the new management. YMMV

when people stop hoarding them......but seriously. i work in a gunshop and we have ARs. they are out there but they are pricey. good news is the price is being lowered by demand every day. Give it a few more months and things should come back down to normal

This. Same with ammo. Ammo is only hard to find right now because people are buying it because its there, not because they need it anymore. Once the "holy shit you guys have some" mindset wears off, it'll all come back.

M&P15 Sports are back under $1000, they just don't show up as easily as they used to
