Thanks. I'm happy with it for now. I got a little over 2" of lift. Other people reported between 1.75" and 2.5". My struts were used so I didn't expect them to give 2.5".

My truck has over 200,000 miles on it and I've had it about 2 years; no idea what kind of maintenance was done on it before I got it but I am very religious about taking care of it.

I still need to get around to doing mine. It's been sitting around for over a month :p

So was a line wrench necessary?

I didn't use a line wrench. The hardest part is getting enough forgiveness in the lines to get the filter in and out.

Not necessary but a nice precaution.

You don't want to round the nut/head of the compression fitting.

Ah! Very true. Hopefully my limited number of tools will be enough. If not, I'll go pick some up at Harbor Freight :D

Also I don't think the 10mm socket I have will be deep enough.

Well my factory Toyota POS double din head unit, you know, the one that can play those 80's slow jam old skool cassete tapes lol, well the damn unit decided to crap out on me! :(

So this morning I installed a cheap ($98) but sweet new Alpine unit I scored online. It's the Alpine 42BT (mechless, it's the future folks!), no CD player, but all the bluetooth/pandora music streaming and bluetooth chit chat via my iPhone that I could ever want. It's a pretty sweet setup for the price but the most impressive part about this unit is that, like other aftermarket HUs, it has a freaking display clock! :p I really hate where the clocks are located on our tacos.

I may have to get some of these now.... Would be awesome to have driving around New Mexico this Summer!

I need to grease mine as well.... The nerf bars make a huge difference don't they!? When I removed mine it looked like it had lifted slightly haha

I never really liked the nerf bars, just had them on because they were taking up space in my closet. It definitely makes it look like it rides higher.

Haha I know what you mean by taking space in the closet! I have nerf bars, stock suspension, and my stock grille in my closet.

    A before and after.

The chrome was peeling up, and the pain around the emblem was coming off. So, i painted it!

1 can of flat black and 1 can of clear coat... should be pretty tough, fingers crossed

refurbishing the valance is next. I think i'll try the heat gun method...
