good lord the rockies game last night was weak. Although what was funny is when i go drinking downtown i normally tow my utility trailer to my work and sleep in there after cause its near the light rail and i aint about to drive home. Imagine my surprise last night when another employee was doing the same thing lol.

From what I remember reading you can't make them functional. Something with the airflow over the good that doesn't flow into the scoop.

In other news, a lot of the snow was just about gone on the roads and parking lots. Then it snowed over a foot yesterday haha

I use to sleep in the bed of my Tacoma with a sleeping bag. I called it urban camping. Now I live close enough to walk or taxi it home.

Nice man. I never really cared to do the BHLM until I just looked at the front of my truck and realized how much better it would look now since everything else is blacked out. I may just have to go ahead and go for it.

And that's just it, when I was first reading his responses I got the feeling (right or wrong) that he didn't see where it was a big deal or where he hadn't made (much of) a mistake. I didn't have much of an upbringing so lots of life lessons I had to learn the hard way and as a result I may be a little more critical of making sure others learn lessons from their mistakes before it ends up being something life altering from repeating the same pattern of mistakes. I think enough of us managed to drive the point home and I think he realizes how it didn't seem like much of a big deal at all but has since made it clear that he fully grasps the complexity of these situations now and that's a good thing.

It is not but I considered back and forth making it functional. It would be quite easy actually but would really only serve to add additional cooling.. if anything. The way the hood is shaped it looks like the flow of air would come up over the scoop at anything approaching highway speeds anyway. May not be worth the additional dirt that it lets in. That and since I'm supercharged I've got supplemental cooling that is away from the engine heat anyway. I basically made the decision not to do it and then the first neighbor I showed it to (also a Tacoma owner) asked me right out of the gate: Is that functional? lol Of course. Made me start to second guess my decision again. :p

Yeah, I kind of see where that might be the case. I hadn't read that but was subscribed to a thread where people were talking about how to do it in case I decided to go ahead and do it but nobody was talking about if it actually added any benefit or not. I'll probably just call it good.

Don't hate. With luck you'll be there soon enough. Funny thing is at lunch with a bunch of friends today we were all talking about how nobody thought I'd make it to see 30 and here I am..... glad I outgrew my crazy youthfulness. :D

OST there is a thread on why the scoop can't really be all that functional. I guess something to do with the wind tunnel results. If I remember right it's like a dead spot and even if you opened it it would still not bring much into the engine bay. It's been years since I have read that but I know the thread is out there.

Yeah I would keep my biviesack too just incase rain or snow haha. But then I bought the bestop and made a sleeping platform then I did it in much more comfort! I wonder if the cops would get pissed if I set up an RTT in a parking lot to sleep it off. :D
