My dealer was happy to turn off the belt beeper, had to tell them how to do it, with their computer hooked to the truck's diagnostic port. I hate having the thing beeping at me when I'm doing something in the yard or at the site.

I went to get mine serviced for the 10k and they said it's against company policy to do it due to safety concerns. I called a different dealership in the area and said they have not heard of a way to disable the annoying beep. I'm in So. Cali and do enjoy going to the drive in theaters but it's annoying hearing the beep and trying to enjoy a movie. My service guy said his manager with be emailing me about their decision.

Shall we start compiling a list of willing dealerships?

Appleway Toyota, Spokane, WA - $57, unconfirmed if they can do it
Parker Toyota, Coeur d'Alene, ID - $84, willing but unable on a 2013 TRD Sport

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Lies...Under my seat there was a plug that I unplugged that did it. There is a picture of it somewhere around here which one to pull. And it only shuts off the driver side which is good, I want my passengers wearing theirs at all times.

My thought also. Don't want to change something else like the airbag.

Just sick of the sound when you are moving a trailer, in and out and so on.

Isn't there an airbag in the side of the seat? Mine have them. I would think they would need some connection. Perhaps that plug also handles that?

For the driver side you can unplug one the connectors under the seat. That is what I did after fighting with the dealer over it for a couple of months. Next time it will be disabled before I take delivery. If I carry something heavy on the passenger seat then I just fasten the belt. I had a big watermelon on it the other day and it did not trip it.

I just unplug the cable under the drivers seat for mine so it thinks it's always buckled up. This works for me because I only drive unbuckled at low speeds where I'm probably not going to get in a situation that sets off the airbags. I like to get going and out on the road before I buckle up and can't stand that thing dinging at me all the time. If you're unbuckled out on main roads going faster than 25mph I don't recommend this approach. Also you're an idiot - it is unbelievable how much seatbelts reduce injuries / dismemberment / death when you're in a bad accident. It doesn't matter how good a driver you are if some moron is texting on their phone and t-bones you at an intersection.
