    That's a good route through Iowa. Not much traffic and good roads. In South Dakota, don't be stupid and try to push your gas mileage. There aren't many gas stations and some are closed until summer. If I was you, I would have a 5 gallon gas can in your truck just in case...

    Thanks for the heads up! I have a little bit of space left but my Cali friends have requested some yuengling so I won't have any extra space. Hopefully I don't regret that.

    This time of year I wouldn't worry too much about going through SD. You can fill up in Sioux Falls and make it to Rapid City (or wall drug which is about just before Rapid City.) easily if you aren't driving 80+. I just did it last summer.

    I know for sure. They don't start plowing until mid March and this year with the budget sequestration thing the plowing has been delayed so save money. I know they are plowing now but the official opening dates aren't until early May. Looks like May 3 for the East and May 10 for the south
