Got a couple of things done that I wanted to, prior to Cars & Coffee tomorrow morning. Basically make sure my wheels were properly centered (long story), and drill/installed rear bump stops. They were needed!




After that event tomorrow, Phase One of my new front suspension will commence.

Then hopefully within a week, Phase Two will take place.

 

Damn! They are so little! Dropping trucks is kind of a foreign concept to me. haha

 

You two have helped soooo much! I really am starting to lean more towards a 3.90 or 4:10. This 3.73 is just a hair to long.

Yeah. They are. But they are just enough to prevent the shocks from bottoming out, and I don't have very much travel anymore. Not needed where I am going.

 

Nice! Should give you a little more torque at the wheels too! My 4.88's give me a lot more torque when I give it some gas! Pulls way better than stock. Just wish I was boosted though

Do you plan on just doing track runs or drifting as well? You should get practiced up on your launches too and see if you can beat werty's times with your setup as well Although his new setup may make for some good competition. haha

I'm sure I've asked you this once but do you have an LSD up front or do they even make anything for our front diffs?

Also, I just finished from working on the truck. Installed my modded steering knuckles. While in the process, I found a couple of problems.

Passenger side bearing is howling at the moon. And somehow the rotors aren't firmly attached to their hats. There is noticeable play in them. Not good.*

The purpose of tonight's (today's) modding, is because I have to weigh the unsprung mass of the front suspension. As well as take a lot of measurements to get the motion ratio. Had to install the new knuckles first though.

I'll be able to get the measurments tomorrow, but doesn't look like I'll be driving the truck for a little while again.*

Ahh yes....the "L" word. Lol. Next time I make the trek to the Depot. Just for you Homer. I guess it can't be to bad. I mean, they are right next to each other. Lol.

Putting the work in.






Here is what was done to the knuckles, which I picked up from another member here on TW. I had the UCA mount lowere 1".





Having the top mount lowered will aid in the angle of the UCA, help correct the camber a little, and allow me to be able to get a hair more up travel by trimming the bump stop.

Now that I learned that I have that bad bearing, it is now time to install the ARP wheel studs. I just don't feel safe in these factory ones. My wheels are a bit thicker than stock, and the lug nuts just don't get enough bite for me.

 

My friend Sdxrunner619, elightened me to this. I feel much better now, and kind of like a dummy for not knowing sooner. But now I know.

 

Do you perchance have the ARP part number for the lug studs you're going to install? I didn't like hoe my tuner lugs only got a few threads on my XD wheels when I installed them. Did get some extended lugs but longer studs isn't a bad idea either. Especially from a good company like ARP.

I too have had the same problem you mentioned. For far to long. I originally ordered 1 EVO set. They are quite long, as listed in that link. Bt to keep thing simple, and since I already wanted new lug nuts, I just ordered the same. Only thing is, that the EVO studs only come in a pack of 5. :/ Oh well.

I ordered mine through Amazon. Really cheap one day, or free two day still comes out overall cheaper than say Summit, for me.

Valved to my truck coilovers might ship by Friday.
