Ok so I hooked up my sub/amp that has been sitting in my garage for two years. Wired it all up and it won't turn on. It has a good ground, 4ga power cable with an inline fuse (not blown,) and only one 120w sub. I did re-do the connections on the sub inside the box but that shouldn't affect the amp turning on. The amp does not have an internal fuse, so I've ruled that out. Last thing I think it could be is the remote turn-on wire might not be getting a good connection. I'll check that tomorrow, but does anyone have a different idea as to why this thing isn't turning on?

Check the voltage going into the amp. I would agree with the remote turn-on. What did you connect that to?

I connected it to the blue/white wire coming out of the deck. It may have a bad connection there because I ran out of good connectors so I used a cheap one I had laying around. I put my multi meter on the amp but I think it's broken. Wouldn't read anything on the power cable. But it also wouldn't read any voltage coming off my battery either so...I'll borrow one from work today and check it out. And now that I think about it, my ground MIGHT be the issue. Hard to explain lol, but it may be that as well.

Dont plastidip your truck ben. For the love of god please dont lol. Vinyl is good, plastidip will not last. Especially if your wheeling. I thought about vinyl a time or two also but for the same reason decided that my already scratched truck was less hassle then worrying about my wrap job while i was trying to have some fun.

You can use a PAC-TR7 to bypass the parking brake. It requires nothing with the actually parking brake wire. It has instructions on which wires to hook up depending on what radio you have. Then a simple program of the unit and your done. And as far as your amp, i would put my money on the connection for the remote turn on. Make sure your connected to remote turn-on on the back side of the radio and not the power antenna. They get mixed up sometimes.

Thats the way to go. If its cheap enough its worth it. The nice part is if u scratch it or rip of a portion of it say on your door, you can just replace the door piece and its perfect again!

The blue/white has a tag on it that says remote turn on. Manual says its for the power antenna or optional power amp...I'm assuming that's the right one. I didn't see any other wire that would work.

Ya that should be it then. Is there a setting in your radio to turn that on?

There's a setting to turn the sub on/off but I didn't look the remote turn on setting. I'll look into that too. Ultimately I want to get a new sub/amp anyway, but I was hoping this would do for a few months.

I might take you up on that. I redid the wiring from sub to amp as well. Maybe I messed that up? I just did + to + and - to -. SVC 4ohm sub. Should be getting 120 watts from the amp.

Just used a snap around multimeter on it. The remote wire at the sub is reading .25amps. So it should turn on, right? So it must be the ground then hopefully.

Did you check to see if you have any voltage on ground?
