Largest tires with bilstein 5100's set at 2.5"

Not worried about articulation too much, I will be doing mainly dirt trails for camping, nothing extreme. I'm looking at the light racing uca's as you mentioned and the total chaos desert madness uca's. it's about a $240 difference between the two...

 

i have the setup youre talking about, i didnt have to chop the cab mount but i did have to trim ALOT of plastics to make them fit

 

i also have 1/2" top plate spacers as well

 

You had to trim to make 285's fit?

 

Well I think what I'm looking at is 5100's at .85" with eibach springs, uca's probably lr's not only for price but I won't be doing anything crazy, 1.5" aal in rear, 17x8 pro comp wheels and 265 at2's. hmm $2500 later....

 

I did the same set up and if you time it right you can get below 2. I got a few Black Friday deals then scored on some promotions for wheels and tires.

 

Yeah save my money and keep looking for deals.

 

Toytec seems pretty reasonable. The blisten kit with the 5100's, eibach springs, and rear aal for $600, throw in the LR uca's and I'm just over 1k.

Unless I find a tire I like in 275 I'll probably just go with 265's

 

Any feedback on the rear aal that comes with the 5100 kit from toytec? I was originally looking at the icon aal. Is there a noticeable difference between the two?

 

So I see what's involved with the cab mount, looks to be a bit if cutting, then weld a plate to cover. With front mud flaps removed what other plastic needs to be trimmed? This is for 285's with 2.5" lift

 

I think I'm gonna make a move on these wheels, buy 3 get one free from 4wheel parts!

Pro comp 17x9, set of 4 comes out to $600 out the door, good deal and awesome wheel. Throw on some 265/70r17 grabber at2 and I think I'll be a happy camper.

Scratch that, I guess 9" is too wide a wheel for a 265 tire... Ah well

 

Now I'm reading a 265 tire is ok on a 9" wheel... As long as it's within the tire manufacturers wheel width range I don't see what the issue is. I'm looking at putting general grabber at2's 265/70 17 on 17x9 wheels, the tire rim width range is 7-9". Any thought on this combo?

 

I ran 285-75-16 duratrac on a spacer lift with no issues. I had to remove mudflats (I wanted to anyways) and trim the plastic fender liner at the front wheels, about 2 inches where it meets the bumper.

 

I like the duratracs, they are a nice looking tire, expensive though! I'm gonna go with 265's for now. And I can't find any reason to not go with the 17x9 wheels, even guy at my local 4wheel parts says they have done it with no issues.

I noticed that, plus the eibach coils are on backorder... I think I'm gonna get the 5100's from dsm, then the aal and ome 885 springs from toytech. I have a dbl cab and from what I read from others the 885's will settle to about 2.25" lift. Then if I want more down the road I can do uca's and throw in a 3/4" spacer maybe.

 

I'm in Cali though so with dsm I pay tax but shipping is free, with toytec I pay shipping but no tax... Also dsm offers the 5125 shock for the rear.
