Digging up an old thread here. I'd like to learn more about this coil over conversion kit that ToyTec puts out. Since their Eibachs are on back order and I actually prefer the idea of a fully adjustable set up as in a true coil over as opposed to the traditional Billy 5100 set up, I'm really liking the idea of this conversion kit. No hard off roading and I am going to add UCA's when I do my lift. I'm liking this set up a lot! I'm still searching thread but there isn't much out there on this. Can anybody give me some experience based thoughts? Thanks!

EDIT: Actually I guess I can buy the ToyTec front "coilover" set up already built and have the same thing huh? I know, it's not a true coilover like ICON/FOX/KING, but it is fully adjustable. Only thing is, shipping would be higher in the long run since DSM wouldn't charge shipping for their 5100's.

Here is my submission. I bought my shocks and struts a while back and seperately bought all the parts to assemble them myself. The top plates were too expensive through Toyota and Toytek, but I was lucky enough to find a replacement from Rock Auto. I found the insulators on Ebay. They were actually listed for '04 and earlier models, but I tried one and it fits perfectly. I rented the spring compressor from AutoZone and put them together.

*** I was sweating the assembly; it was like defusing a bomb, but that's another story ***

I ordered new tires with my tax return and had everything installed the other day. I got General Grabber AT2s, 265.70.17 and the 5100s are set at zero.

I was just told ToyTec will provide all of the plates and mounting pieces and full assembly for $100 additional. Sounded reasonable to me.

Thats correct, I just ordered a full set of 5100's with eibachs. Front set totally set up ready to install. Toytec charged $100 to set up the front set. TW.com discount of 5% was nice subtraction.Totally:eek:

In trying to save money, I bought my components from different sources. My shocks (set of 4) were from Downsouth Motorsports and the springs from ToyTec. It wasn't a bad way to go and was fun to assemble them. My only problem was, instead of waiting to use my buddies spring compressor, I used a rental. It worked well ... just nerve wracking.

I've purchased a set of 5100s with Eibach springs on them, and 1/4" and 1/2" spacer from Toytec. I also have a 2" AAL ready for install.

I have 5100s set to 2.5" and the 2" added half a year ago, and didn't like the 5100s at that height. So, i removed the AAL and lowered the struts to .85". If i install the Eibach and AAL again, will it be the same ride quality as with 5100s at 2.5"?

No it won't. It should be smoother as the shocks won't be providing the majority of the lift. I have the setup you mentioned and it rides great in my opinion.

I'm installing my lift Saturday, 9-14-13, with the help of my buddy that works at Toyota.(the best part is the labor is free!) Im planning on setting billies at 0, eibachs, and then run the toytec top spacers the ones that give .75" of lift on top, with the additional .25 driver side spacer. I theory, this should lift me 2.35". Is this correct?
In the rear I'm going with the 1.5 aal

It's all good. I can't say the exact weight, at least 100 lbs. I don't have the full top plate kit, I have a 3/4" spacer on the driver side and the 1/4" on the passenger. I want to add a 3/4 to the passenger and move the 1/4" to the driver side to pick it back up.

I know the arb is like one of the heaviest bumpers going didn't know if the tjm was the same in that aspect. I already have some front rake it doesn't really bother me it's not as bad since I put the ato outback
