I have the wrangler silent armor right now. I really like them for everything I've put them through. 10" of powder was no problem up hills and stuff. I only went mudding with them once and they did fine. I have nothing to compare them to though.

dude...nothing to compare them to is right.

I had some 33x12.5 Wranger silent armors on my truck for 50k miles....and wow did they suck on anything but dry pavement and dry sand.

They would break loose on wet pavement on every opportunity (that that was 33's on stock 4.10 gears on a 4 cylinder).

Anything wet (sand, mud) would instantly fill up the treads and turn the tire into a street slick.

After about 20k miles the rubber on the sidewalls started to deteriorate and literally flake off...

The only thing I can say good about them is that they wore VERY well...I took them off at 50k miles and they still have 40% tread left.

And in the sand they did well aired down.

    Everything else....pure garbage...

^Haven't had any of those issues except they do like to spin easier when wet. But what tire doesn't... I have 33k on them and they still have decent tread on them. But anyway, I'm replacing them with something more off road worthy because I didn't buy the silent armors for off road. I haven't even been off road in 2 years since there isn't squat for trails around here. School is about done so now I can start building for off roading.

Finally found me a good A.R.E. canopy. Price was beyond right - FREE!:p
Perfect fit but about the color... can't make up my mind if I want to leave it or have it painted to match. (save money or spend money:confused:)
Picture shows how dirty it was when I picked it up. No mold, just plain old dirt.

Score...FREE is always the best price. I just had mine color matched by a buddy's paint shop for a few hundred bucks...glad i did cause it looks way better with the same paint color as the truck.

I only paid $100 for the shell so i figured a few more bucks on color wasn't all that bad.

i'd get it color matched, will look a lot better on the truck and when the thought of resale comes along, much better return.

Nah my dad had some too that he hated. Can't even remember though. Every goodyear tire i have seen or wheeled with someone just has not be impressive. Im amazed you can tell wth those are in those pics..cause i can't haha nor do i remember. All i know is they were Wranglers. THey were not stock though. The spare was stock tire and it was a totally different tire. Im almost positive it was a MT

and i did rotate my old tires. I was young and actually maintained my rig MUCH better then i do now.

I just haven't liked what i have really seen out of Goodyears. Jons seem to do great though..but i still don't think id run them.

Hell id take Coopers over Goodyears.

    But yes..Duratracs suck.

    ha..i know right? lol

It's all good, not trying to argue with you. Like I said earlier I'm with you 100% on the BFG's. I really like the KM2s. I've just had a decent experience in the past with a particular model of Goodyears so I'm trying it again and I have confidence they'll do well. But if they don't I know I can go back to something else.

For those that like Duratracs, that's fine too. If they're working for you, then I have nothing to say, but I would never buy them or run them for any reason other than as a snow tire.

Looking good Paul! Still making some bumper progress for you. The 2000lb latch for the swing out showed up. Still waiting for the hinge then I can start on the swing out.

Got my reverse LEDs today! So, what did I do? I installed them since there was still a bit of daylight left to work ;)

They're very directional, but have enough spread on the beam. I think they'll work out well for seeing out of my darkly tinted windows at night...and also once I have a cap on the back.

Duratracs work for some and don't work for others.... I haven't blown a sidewall yet and I do some serious wheeling but I also take it easy, I don't just sit there spinning tires on rocks. I wish I could see what people have slashed there sidewalls on. Its situational in my opinion there is too many variables involved what line you picked tire pressure and so on

Gonna give the in cab snorkel mod a shot. I have right around $10 in materials... we'll see how it turns out I guess. :anonymous:

I had a writeup that I was going to be referring to, but the link is now no longer available. What's the best stuff to use on ABS plastic, or can I just use sensor safe silicone?

I think it was the link you posted the other day (the correct one for the 01-04). Love the bulbs!
