Hey yeah, sorry man, my computer is shitty. I wasnt able to reserve the site. About the same situation as you.

Where did you get the cans?

 

Plan on it! There is a good little slot canyon along the trail that is about a 1/2 hour out of the way adventure that I would like to hike

 

I was going to buy them on Amazon but they wanted like $89.95 + $19.20 for shipping. So I found the company that was selling them on there. I called them up and talked to a guy named Jerry. He sold me each can for $60, and one spout for $25. The shipping was $22.50 for both cans and the spout. $167.50 delivered is pretty good deal. They are one of the only places that sells the legit jerry cans. They only have green spouts right now, but will get the red ones in at the end of May.

I saw what looks like the same NATO cans on ebay. The green ones were 4 for $130! Pretty good deal if you get what is in the picture. I don't mind the green either.

 

I bought mine at 4 wheel parts for 40ish bucks. Having been in the military I hate the old style metal nato cans, they are a pain but the do last, that's for damn sure.

 

Holy shit those are expensive! What's wrong with a couple of $10 gas cans from walmart?

 

I've never seen a metal one in the army. We have gone to all plastic ones that look more like this water can. We use lots of these water cans too in green and tan.

 

Yeah we had plastic too for everything that took JP8 and water. We had a couple old metals though. Oki Marines are always the last to get anything new haha! I am trying to get my hands on a couple of those plastic ones though.

 

I see benefits to both kinds. I don't like the taste plastic can give to water, but if it doesn't do that, thats what I would prefer. Metal is more durable if left in the sun for long periods of time. I use big plastic containers that i got from a motorcycle shop and bought the kit to convert it from a fuel storage container to water (it was just a seal that was made out of a diff material) which I like, but I can't find a good nozzle for it and there are no holders like those for jerry cans.

I got a decent gas can metal red from the army surpulse store for $20 and $5 for the bottom holder
I think $60 is a little $$$ for them

You can leave those plastic containers Brady showed outside forever, trust me. And I drank plenty of water out of them. Not any worse than any other container I have drank from.

 

so i got a new toy its a 95 Nissan S14 Zenki all stock with a ka24de has 100k on it only thing done to it is rims and coil overs, sorry for side tracking the conversation but ya so stoked that i have this as my new daily



its still a secret to my friends. non of them know i got it, but i cant wait to see the look on there faces when they see a S14
