Watch out they might be only selling the spouts. I saw someone selling 4 for $120 and realized they were only spouts.

Nothing I just cannot stand after some decent use the plastic ones leak all over the place. We have 8, 5 gallon plastic gas cans in wisconsin and only two don't leak horrible. Plus if you store them with the spouts inverted they can leak fuel as the can builds pressure. These seem the most reliable for storage, actually pouring, and durability. Plus gas can evaporate through the plastic ones.

 

I would like to get some of those. Where do you get those?

 

The Military haha. Or surplus stores occasionally have them.

Ah, didnt see that. I just know I have seen them at surplus stores before for cheaper but they go fast.

 

The plastic fuel cans that are best are the Scepter cans but they have been discontinued for civilian use. They are SOOOOO much better than any metal can (Nato or otherwise) and way better quality than the Wally World plastic Blitz cans. They are still available to the military and will occasionally show up at surplus stores but they usually get snatched up quickly. You can find them on message board classifieds now and then but they are expensive. They're worth it, but still expensive.



I have one Scepter fuel can (olive green) that I carry. And I also have a couple of the plastic water cans that Brady posted. They are great cans too. I got mine from buylci.com a few years ago.

I use a couple of the water cans on my Trailer too. Helps a ton when camping with the family.


Having high quality cans for fuel and water definitely isn't a requirement, but it sure makes a big difference. It's like the difference of camping in a cheap Walmart ground tent vs an Eezi-Awn RTT. It took me a long time to find a good deal on the ones I got, but was worth it in the end.

I like this pic a lot! Drives me up the wall when people are highly biased towards wheeling with others because they drive a different vehicle. Sure I will bash Jeeps here and there but it is all in good fun, because I get some of it right back from the Jeep guys. Luckily I don't run into issues too often, mostly because all of my wheeling buddies are either Taco owners themselves or the wheeling club here that is a big mix of all kinds of vehicles. Every meet I have done with them so far usually has 1 of each type of vehicle there. We just figure the more the merrier
