k&n drop in

so a few weeks ago i removed the secondary air filter on my 08 2.7l 4x4 and noticed a small difference in power not big at all it ran smoother and seemed to pull a bit better then a week ago i decided to get the k&n drop in for fifty dollars why not right with this addition i got a noticable increase it pulls much better more so at highway speeds when passing and runs much smoother from idle to redline i know someone will ask about mpg i never paid much attension to this i did get 380 out of my last tank and that was with a 1\4 tank left so for around 50 dollars and removing the secondary air filter it is more than worth it if you have the 2.7l

 

too bad we can't get these kind of gains off the 4.0L... butt dyno or not!

 

yeah i heard that for the 4.0l there's not much of a difference

Yeah it helps it breathe a bit more, at least I think so. At the very least you'll save money on air filters over the life of the vehicle.

 

Lol my thoughts exactly on the "." But yea, the largest reason for me getting the drop in on my 4.0 was not having to buy another one again. Though I'm on the fence about getting an AFE dry, I like the idea of just wash, dry, go instead of oil...

 

how do you like the Ft. hood area.. my wife is from the area.. ive been down there once.. seems liek a nice enough place.. better than the Ft. bragg area atlesat

 

No secondary filter and a K&N installed. Wasn't it determined that K&N allows more air thus allowing more dust/dirt particles along with the air? Don't wan't to see someone have any engine problems because of buildup. Just throwin that out there.. Maybe I'll stand corrected?
