Man, angry much? It's overpriced because I can buy a FX4 or lower trim package and do all of the things to it that matter that a raptor has for less money. (Suspension, lockers, lsd, 35's, etc). Same with a zr1 corvette, I would instead go buy a z06, and do mods with that 40 grand I saved.

I don't get mad much. Just the way I talk. And the reason most people don't do that is you have to take the time to find the parts and take the time to either install everything yourself or pay a shop to do it. Then, when u do it that way, you have to pay money up front for parts instead of finance them and pay a monthly note. You also won't have any of those parts covered under warranty either. To 99.9 % of people that buy a new vehicle, they don't want to go through all that hassle. Plus if you put it that way, you might as well buy the most basic truck possible and only do the things you want to it

I guess, I also don't finance things as a general rule. *shrug*

If anyone wants to give me a raptor, I'll PM you my address.

Now, one thing i saw that was just crazy was somebody put a drop bracket lift on a raptor. Now, doesn't that remove most of the long travel capability of it? or is that just the TW anti DB lift resonating?

No it doesn't. A DB lift has just as much wheel travel as stock suspension. The point of that lift is to keep the suspension geometry the same as stock, which helps with uca, lca, and axle angles and keeps stock alignment numbers, while lifting the truck very high. The reason why I don't like them is 1: you gain 0 ground clearance over stock 2: the ride tends to be sacrificed a lil bit 3: I just think they look dumb as shit. Of coarse I have seen some good looking trucks with those kits but they would look so much better without a bigass block of shit in the middle of them

So...a raptor with a properly done DB lift would perform the same as a stock one? except for having higher center of gravity. But...the one i saw also had what i think were 20's on it, so it didn't exactly look ready for the dirt.

Just to be fair, I'm the one who brought up the Raptor. Which...

I still think they are awesome. Just wouldn't buy one.

You are still lacking a lot of parts and quality of what a ZR1 has starting with a Z06...

The same can be said about spending money on a Tacoma with an anemic and overpriced per performance engine. Different strokes for different folks.

No but we can put a LS6 and entire C5 Z06 drivetrain into a 1974 Austin Healy Sprite and destroy Z06s and ZR1s. Does that mean we know something GM does not?
