Some guys like them some guys hate them... I've driven a few and I liked them. I would rather the Tundra just because I like Toyota But everyone is different.

The only deal breaker between the F150 and the Tundra would be the Tundra's back seat is HUUUUGE compared to the F150. Other than that it would be a coin toss.. for me anyway.

X2 on everything. I would also go for the 5.0l not the ecoboost, but I still think the 5.7l in the tundra is the best engine out of the three.

I like the F150 myself. At the top of the list for my next truck whenever that is. I like both motors. I'd probably stick with the 5.0 if I were buying one right now just because I think they have a couple kinks to work out yet with the 3.5 EB for truck use.

I would get the Ecoboost if you're gonna go with ford

Think I have warmed up to the tundra. So I think I'll get the tundra anyway because they last forever compared to a ford. Too bad they haven't come out with any new engine or transmissions though. Maybe next year

What's wrong with what's in there.. almost 400 hp, can pull a space shuttle, plus since the 14s are out they will be dirt cheap. People complain about the MPGs of the Tundy, I have found loads of youtube vids of people running a crewmax with a 5.7 4wd getting 20 mpg easy

This ^^ if you want decent mpg. Don't drive it like a 400 hp truck and you'll be fine

wow! how much does that boat weigh? do you have special suspension and hitch or what? if you can tow that with a Tacoma im sure I can to my searunner. but how often did you tow that up a hill. and sorry Large I didn't mean to offend you buy that statement but I just thought that since they redid the truck I just thought they would have new engines.

your right. I don't really care about mpg anymore between the two trucks but I would rather have the tundra over the taco because of the room and power of the tundy. I have also looked at the 2014 gmc sierra but iam hesitant to buy it because I don't know much about the new engines in them.

I wouldn't be concerned with the engines in the GM trucks they're generally good. I know the 2 V8s are the same displacement as the outgoing trucks but make more power. Not sure how much of the engine is new.

If money is not so much an issue, get the Tundra, hands down. If you want room, power, and towing, you will not be disappointed.

I tow a 2003 Four Winns 205 Sundowner. I figure boat, trailer, and gear probably around 5500 pounds. The Tacoma handles it no problem.

Say you tow the boat 15 days a year. That's like 4% of your daily driving. I would not base a $30k+ purchase on 4%. Look at the other driving you do and choose your truck according to that.

I hope you're applying that logic solely to his 3500lb boat and not as a general towing rule.

the only reason I want to get a fullsize truck is just because of the towing but I have a four person family and the tundra would offer more room than the Tacoma. it not that I don't believe the Tacoma can do it. (because it can) but like I said in the beginning of this thread I will be towing the searunner up to Detroit lake every other weekend during summer or every few days and every weekend during salmon season with 4-5 people in the truck every time I tow it. (minus the times the boat goes to the shop.) so I and I realize the tundra is 30k plus but that is something I am willing to do but if you guys are confident the Tacoma v6 can handle that much towing with that many people than I will save a couple grand. thanks:D

Boat and trailer was just over 6,000 pounds. My dad towed it a few hundred miles back from South Carolina. I wasn't with him, but he said it worked like a charm. Stock prerunner tacoma... I tow my bass boat often as well, but it only weighs like 2,000 pounds...

Good luck man. If you're gonna be towing often, the Tundy is prolly the way to go. Just wanted to put in my $.02 though...
