Not getting scientific, bump steer to me is when you hit a bump and the steering wheel jars itself... Caused by bad shocks and over inflated tires....

 

That's just worn components

I'm assuming all 5 tires have to be around the same PSI for that button to work? At first I thought that button was to reset the light when it went off, and just never worked. So maybe I can pull the sensors from the tires, and while they all read 0 PSI, use that button to set 0 an acceptable pressure?

 

Re-calibrate it. No need to disable it. Just set your psi to what you want and hold the button to recalibrate it for 10-15 seconds. It should stay off as long as you don't go under that psi, pretty sure you can set it at whatever you want

 

So potentially I could set them all to 0 PSI and throw them in the glove box... I think there is a minimum though.

The light comes on when you go more then 3% (I think) from the set point. The set point can be whatever you want within certain limits.

I'd like to know as well... they aren't related.

No, I believe there is a minimum and maximum that you need your set point to fall between.

 

Can't find an exact number, but looks like a good chance that minimum pressure is 25% less than the door jamb sticker.

Agreed. Had to run a set of wheels w/out TPS installed, so the dealership turned the nanny system off for TPS.

 

Push the button, takes 10 seconds. No need to disable them unless you swap wheels all the time or constantly air down and don't want to see the light.

 

^ Agreed. If you swap out your wheels and dont have the TMPS anymore, disable them. But if everything is there, might as well use it. I pulled the LED on mine because I swapped wheels

 

Dunno about you guys, but going from a 95 taco into a 2011 is a drag with all of the nanny BS. Traction control can eat my ass.

Traction control can be annoying, but I shut it off it the roads have any snow. Nothing worse than trying to pull into traffic and having the engine cut out

 

I'll probably get around to it when I do the ABS disable mod. Not a big deal right now since I'm only running one set of tires.

 

It's the pits. Then there's the automatic braking around aggressive corners. Like I don't hear tire slip. Friggin BS.
