    I do not understand how adding lift can create a vibration in the front driveline. :confused:

    Neither end of the front driveline moves up or down, left or right. The diff is mounted to the frame and the t-case is mounted to the trans. Lifting doesn't change this.

    You said the diff drop fixes front driveline vibs. All I'm saying is that simply lifting the front does not change anything about the front driveline. It can't. The two ends are fixed location.

    Now there is no doubt that people get front vibs from lifting but there is no way that vib is a front driveline vib. It is so much more likely it is a cv axle vib because those angles drastically change when you lift.

    Rotating the diff with a diff drop reduces those axle angles and does change to front driveline angle.

    I assume so. Just says this:

    "have 4 Hella HID converted 6000k 500ff lights on there...3 are driving and 1 is fog...but I have a spare driving light i keep meaning to convert...so you'd be getting 5 lights basically. $250 shipped for the Hella's with all wiring and relays and switch."

    Cv angle is barely reduced. I have photos of that..gotta find e, on my old account

    However yes. The front diff doesn't change when lifted. Silas explained it too me once and it made sense. Haha

    I don't think it does. The diff is bolted to the frame. When you lift, the whole frame lifts but the diff remains in the same spot in relation to the frame. When you lift only the suspension and axles move in relation to the frame.

    diff drop is on, and MAYBE IM CRAZY, but i noticed a difference in how much my inner boot tear was spreading apart. Is the difference a ton? Not really. But it certainly looks like it is pulling the boot apart less then it was earlier today before the diff drop. and if it helps even a little, it's worth it.

    no andy was right...as usual. fuck that guy.

    it was a more advanced lock nut than the run of the mill nylon lock nut. Takes a pretty good amount of force to thread the nut all the way because of how it locks, that's why i wasn't even able to get it close by hand.
    im going with this...

    Of course. That is what a diff drop does, it rotates the diff just a little bit. And is a marginal solution at best. And when you guys are lifting more than 2.5", probably doesn't help all that much.

    But that isn't what we've are talking about.

    The diff does not move so there is no way a front driveline vib can develop from doing a lift. Therefore, the diff drop is not a solution for a vibration in a front drive shaft. Period. :)

    If you want to say that a diff drop does not help very much (if at all) for vibrations that develop as a result of a lift, I have no problem with that. In fact I don't believe that a diff drop is the main solution to tearing cv boots. My argument is that if the fins a touch a little, as mine were, a diff drop reduces the axle angle enough to keep the boots from failing. So far it has worked for mine. I'm not saying mine will never fail tho <knocks on wood>

    im considering mounting the hi lift on my soon to be bumper hoops to help weigh down the front of the truck...4cyl clearly is not enough to weigh down the front of the dam truck. Just dont like the added aerodynamic loss of putting the hi lift up there.

    also also, saw the front axle on an f-450 today...holy fucking steering knuckles! everything about that axle was just huge and beefy!
