Ordered revtek 3 inch lift kit but saw swayaway adjustable coil over shocks, total chaos uca and swayaway rear shocks.which one is better, does the coil over shocks also lift my 2009 4x4 dc tacoma?

the saw's and tc uca's are pretty damn good. uca's dont lift and neither do the rear shocks, but the adjustable CO's on the front will

depends on what you are looking to do. non-offroad or limited offroading, then its more fiscally sound to stay w/ what u ordered....if you plan on trails or offroading a good bit, then it'd be worth it to buy the better stuff

if thats all, then i'd stick w/ the revtek. i would get the diff drop and possibly the shims if you have any vibe issues after the install though

toytec offers shims that go under the rear leafs/above the axle if after the lift, you get driveline vibes. lots of people get them. its like a 5 minute install...same as the diff drop.

shouldnt need shims unless you lift the rear higher, ie blocks or AAL. shims are only like $20.

i got vibes on my 07 after 2.5 in the front, TSB, and block in the rear....and on my 09 after 3" CO's and a 3" complete leaf pack...easy fix IF you do happen to get them. it doesnt seem to happen on every truck out there.

Hey are the shims easy to install? Or do you have to take stuff apart and lift the truck?

you can install the rear shims w/ a ratchet, i think 17MM socket, and a floor jack. remove the nuts on the u-bolts, jack up the truck away from the axle, slide the shim in w/ the thin edge to the front, then drop and rebolt and repeat for the other side. if you have a good enough jack and support, do both at the same time

Got yah! Thanks for the info. I was just wondering how hard it was. My truck drives pretty good for now so I don't see any need for shims.;)

if people need them, its usually that at takeoff, the truck has a shudder. most fix it w/ shims....others use the carrier bearing drop. the shims have worked for me twice

Oh okay got yah! Yeah those look pretty sick!!! Yeah I went with some 6" 520's and hopefully they will work on my truck! I know a guy that installed some 6" KC slimlights behind his satoshi grill so hopefully the PIAA's will work out as well.
