All depends what you want. I wired mine to turn on with the key...some wire them in as turn signals, some wire with the corner lights so they are switchable....

I believe those are the "Gatling gun" shrouds and you would need to get the size halo rings that fit inside, instead of the outside... Mounting and wiring is the same.

X2 Thats what I did if you're asking about the halos, just siliconed the halo ring inside of the shroud then mounted it to the projector

Ive since removed the halos though not my look, I also had them wired to my parking lights

Alright you folks with the Apollo shrouds!

I am under the impression they should sit flush, but it seems that the projector is to short for the shroud, do most people just end up siliconing it on even though it isn't flush and call it good? Should I just change shrouds? o.o

I'm pretty sure you have to silicone them regardless and mine sit very close to flush. If that bothers you, you could always trim a bit off the back side.

    Just installed mine yesterday.

Using Anzo black housings (Amazon), with a Kensun Bi-Xenon H4 6000k HID kit, with the slim digital ballasts.

I will eventually retrofit some projectors into those housings for the real deal, but these will do for now. Light output is incredible, and they are aimed right so I'm not blinding everybody!

What projector did you use for your retrofit? Do you have build up of your retrofit?

the more I look at these... the more I want to make attempt.
mostly 'cause I already have a set of clear housings
and could reinstall muh original head lamps while I make a go of it.

Thinking of going with either the D2S/H1 mini stage III retro kit (9003)
kinda confusing when I read thru the TRS website.

Which is more reliable and easiest to install D2S or H1 ?

Do the D2S/H1 come as as hi/low beam
or is that something that needs be requested ?

How long of a delay (if any) for the low beams to light ?
if hi/low beam... is there any delay going low to hi beam ?

Will TRS have the patience to answer all muh newb questions
and help me choose the best options for muh retro kit ?
^ I haven't called them as of yet.

And lastly... how do I get in on a group buy ?
is there anything current regarding ?

    thanks for yer time :)

d2s and the h1s are just as easy to install. Literally plug and play after you open the housings. I did have to modify my housing just a tiny bit for a wire to fit properly, but it was all of 3 seconds with a dremel to cut out a notch.

As far as reliability between the two, no idea. A lot of people prefer the d2s due to the bulb socket type but I've had no issues with my minis.

It takes my bulbs about 10 seconds to fully warm up at 0 degrees outside. It's been 30+ lately and I installed a new battery a few days ago and it takes less than 5 seconds now.

There is no delay between low/high and vise versa. It is instant. All it's doing is flipping up a shield to allow the full amount of light for the high beam.

And yes TRS was extremely helpful when I was buying my kit, although I did get most of the info and questions answered here. Shoot them an email and they will be glad to help you.

They run group buys very often, but I think someone has been doing mini gbs pretty consistently for the past month or so.

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.
    I hate my headlights.

I replaced the stock sealed beams with (cheap) 7x6 H5 projector housings (from eBay) and put in a (cheap) bi-xenon HID kit (from eBay). They work. Well, the low beams do. No high beam switching. I found the correct wire combination to have the high beams on all the time, but that's no good either. It has something to do with the relay harness I think and my Toyo being positive grounded (from what I've read. I'm not an electrical guy and this has stretched my skills past the limit.

I've now spent 7 hours working on every wiring combination I could think of and am frustrated beyond belief...and out of spare fuses.

Now my lenses are all fogged up and look like crap. Cheap has it's place, this just wasn't it.

So here's my question: Since I have a Gen 1, can someone recommend new GOOD housings to replace these? I'm also not opposed to replacing it all (not the truck, just the lights) to do it right.

Or if there's someone skilled in this retrofit stuff that works for pizza and beer and lives in the Portland area.... :)

Let's just start with a few suggestions for me to start looking at.

    Thanks!
