My Taco is getting around 16 mpg, and the other car in the driveway is getting around 30. I'm ok with what I'm getting. I only drive around 20 miles a day. If anything, I'll be getting a bigger truck. I'd rather drive what I want, than drive something for better gas mileage and not enjoy it as much.

Lol that's what my brothers friend though I was gonna do and started freaking out. But no I've seen professionals use air bags also to open em. Plastic wedge first then slip in an air bag and pump it up til the door is open enough to get something in there

They are just stock trd wheels painted black..haha

The best I can get out of my truck is 17-18mpg. For a mid size truck that is unacceptable considering full sizes are getting that much or better.

I dont really enjoy the taco anymore. I dont have anywhere to offroad. the bed is too small for me to really use for anything. the back seat is cramped. and I dont want to have $460 payments for another 2 1/2 years.

breaking everything down it costs me about 165 a week to drive my truck (gas, payment, and insurance).

I'll either ge getting a newish Civic (great MPG) or an older 4runner (pay cash and no payments).

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
This was my initial thought too. I knew you can pry the doors open, but i thought that smeems a little excessive, then it dawned on me.

That's cool. I guess I'm kind of in the same boat, about the enjoying part. That's why I'm also thinking about upgrading to something larger. Most likely a Tundra. I've owned the Tacoma 9 years, and think it's about time for a change. And the Tundra gets close to 20 mpg's. The only hold up on the Tundra, is being able to pull a trailer with two trail rigs. Between 12 and 14,000 lbs. I don't really want a diesel as a DD. Maybe add some airbags to the rear of the Tundra and it would be fine.

Blake bought a tundra as a tow rig then decided it wasn't good enough the one time he actually pulled something...

And then tundras don't get 20mpg...my dad has a brand new one with the 4.6 and he's getting like 15mpg...

Just get a diesel. Better mpg, better for pulling. No brainer

Sure, no brainer. If I pulled a lot. And I'm not so sure I'd believe Blake, with all his knowing experience. The one time he towed his trail rig, it was with his dad's truck. There are a lot of people who use the Tundra for pulling. I know someone that has a 2012 Tundra with the 5.7, and hers is getting 18-20 mpg.

Again, not sure I'd wanna drive a diesel everyday. I'd be using it for actually pulling 1-2 times a month, and not year round.

Again, as I previously said, I don't so much care about MPG's. I'm getting 15-16 now in the Tacoma. If I get that in a larger, more comfortable truck, then I'd be happy.

shouldnt be a problem then. Thats what initially made me start to look at something other than the taco. the 38mpg in the newer civics is what is appealing to me haha.

Yeah, I agree. I guess only time will tell what I do. It'll be later this year before I do anything.

But, at least it added some entertainment into this tired thread.

    How's work Blake?

That's also one of the options in the air. There are a lot of those in good shape still around.

Well I hope it makes it out. At least to get it out there, and play around a little bit. Plus, when I break mine again, I need a seat to drink beer in.
