I know this topic has been covered many times but i cant seem to find the info i need for my particular truck.

I want to fit 33s on my truck with 16x8 wheels
Does anybody know what the best back spacing and offset is? so i dont rub the frame? do i have to trim too??.

Also they flared out the stupid calipers on my year so i guess i need to get a wheel spacer as well?

Well it depends on what width of 33s. You can fit 255/85/16s pretty easily. But you will prob need at least 2.5 - 3 inches of lift.

lift. 3 inches ought to do. move caster forward, probably from help of ltr uca's, that way it doesnt bite on cab mount area of inner fender.

front bumper MIGHT require cutting, or trimming i should say, as for the width and offset of wheels, to much offset and you put strain on stuff and change center of steer, also have more wheel movement when turning, meaning more rubbing, not enough and you rub on inner fender/frame more. its a game of cat and mouse.

I don't know about offsets or anything, you might have to trim a little though.

a narrower tire is easier btw = less cutting

    I used to run 285's with 16 X 8 @ 4" bs'd
    (285's r 'bout 11.50" wide)

2.5" susp. lift, 1" body lift

you'll need 3.5" to clear properly.
Some inner fender plastic may need to be trimmed
and a BFH on the high spots (even with the BL)
I'll never recommend the suspension be
preloaded... more then 2.5" for a 4X (peerunners excluded)
If you like replacing CV's/boots often... maybe 2.75"

hate body lifts !? ^ trails less traveled

IMO, if you can't stuff the suspension fully to the bump stops,
while turning full left to right lock...

    ...it doesn't fit

anyone saying otherwise is full of sh--

street queens subscribe to another theory

    for sure

    daily driver + 33" tires, 3.4L...

    4.88 auto (W OD)

    4.56 manual (5 sp)

geared more towards off road + 33" tires, 3.4L...

I prefer 4.88's with the 5 sp. (what I roll)

I'd probably want 5.29 if I had an auto w OD

    ------------------

    That said...
muh wheelin' partner has a Dcab, 3.4L, auto w 4.10's
has street tires (265)... and off road tires (255)
    swaps those when he wheels.
He rarely complains... and keeps up with me ok (excluding abilities) :p
Tho' temps go up on the auto trans. rolling the 33's.
But he added an extra cooler for the auto trans. to compensate some.

Those with auto trans seem to more easily ignore inefficiency.
Those whom run manual trans tend to notice power loss more.

You know you need to change gearing in a manual...
when 5th gear becomes obsolete on the interstate :p

I pulled 5th gear uphill, 55 mph, low r's, into the wind,
dragging muh off road trailer... all on muh way to Moab... (like 4 times)
But off road is where the proper gearing helps most IMO

Muh buddy on the other hand was hating his 4.10 auto
    all the way to Moab...
'cause the OD kept engaging, on and off.
I told him to turn it off... but he's a dummy.

^ he actually thought he was getting 26 mpg that trip Lol - nope
