This sounds like packing extra underwear is required.

I posted this on T4R.org, but I figured I'd copy it here in case any of you guys are looking...

I might stop by the wrench meet to see what you guys are up to. I don't have much that I need to get done, but I could install my 2nd transmission cooler and replace the run of fuel line w/trans cooler hose... I also have some small wiring tidbits to get done. Other than that, I want to build some skids, but that won't be happening at the wrench meet.

Also, I wanted to mention here that there is a supercharger for sale in Santa Fe for $700!

Craigslist AD > 1996-2004 Toyota Tacoma Supercharger

I drove up there to have a look at it on Monday. Here's the breakdown for anyone who's interested:

    Parts that are present:

Supercharger - it appears to be in good physical shape, no cracked mounting points, etc. It is leaking quite a bit of oil from the nose cone, and there is some marring of the mating surface where it meets the intake manifold, but I think it would still seal up ok. The bypass valve is in good shape. The boost port at the back of the S/C is clogged with mud, so it appears that the S/C may have been exposed to the elements after removal. He indicated that he bought his Tacoma with the S/C installed, and that the engine failed shortly after purchase (no compression on multiple cylinders). He said the prev owner had the S/C installed less than 5k miles before sale. I HIGHLY doubt this is accurate based on the amount of oil leakage from the nose cone, and the amount of oil/residue visible within the intake/exhaust ports on the S/C. This S/C has some miles on it for sure.

Dynamic Tensioner & Bracket - The tensioner is worn, the pulley is rusty and will need to be replaced, and hex head on the shorter bolt for the bracket is stripped out a bit. It's a flat head, hex drive bolt, so that could be an issue with getting it torqued down properly.
Belt - worn, but in usable condition.

The dipstick re-location bracket is there, along with the bolts from the throttle body to the S/C. He is also including the throttle body in the sale.
He is MISSING everything else aside from what is mentioned above. I figured that at minimum, it would require:

    -A new nose cone assembly
    -An install kit
    -New Belt
    -New Tensioner and mounting bolt
-Disassembly and inspection (due to mud in the boost port, who knows what got inside the blower... dirt, rocks, leaves, mice?)

I offered the guy $450 for it, with plans to re-work it and sell for a little profit. He didn't bite on that offer and we went our separate ways. I got the feeling he'd probably go for $600. The guy is pretty cool, but he doesn't speak very good english.

    Just FYI.

Yea I talked to that guy the other day, was planning on looking at it on sat. Everything he said sounded better than what you described. I offered him 5 but we settled on 600.
I wanted to put this on my 96 but it may be more work than I thought.

This is gonna get packed! I hope I have room for everyone

So guys, I only have two garage spaces, so they will have to be rationed between those who need to take any wheels off as the rest of my driveway is gravel...

It would be great if everyone coming could bring a little something, like a potluck wrench day haha. Box of donuts, tortilla chips, snack food ya know?

:woot: Got my shocks back in hand yesterday. Hoping to install today. And probably not going to be swinging by your house tomorrow Ripcord. My body is wiped out from the last few days and the lack of sleep.

Mudbog was today. Saw some sweet rigs and even jumped the baja car into it.
