So the template is made from luan, because cardboard, as I discovered, is way too flexible. The pieces at being held together by gorrilla tape.

Luan is an inexpensive plywood, ushually 1/4" and used as an underlayment for flooring

Well alot of people just call it 1/4" plywood, thats probably why. Usually you staple it down on top of the subfloor for a nice smooth surface for linoleum floors. We also use it under tile, but thats so the top of the tile flushes out with the top of 3/4" hardwood flooring.

Can't wait too see what I make at Mazda. Thursday can't come soon enough. I have ideas rolling around my head. I want my truck up in the air until SAS next year this time. I want an OME until then; then sell the OME. Waste of time?

If you're going to SAS as soon as next year, I wouldn't waste the money of the intermediate step of the OME kit. I also agree with Snoope though, I wouldn't SAS until it's no longer your daily driver.

Alex and Cam, that bumper is going to look awesome!

I guess I should clarify, it's not the SAS process that I think shouldn't be done on a daily driver, it's the more hardcore off roading that you'd do with a SAS rig that I wouldn't want to put a daily driver through. If you are set on SAS, I wouldn't bother with the OME kit because you're going to spend a lot more on the suspension set up for SAS. It's just money spent twice that you won't get back (you might be able to use the OME rear but that depends on how you set up the front)
