What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Had them in my last truck. Even amped they still sucked

The total for the sound system I want is $1015.... Haha but I'll just be getting a new head-unit and amp wiring kit first. That way when I do finally get a sub and component speakers it'll already be pre-wired.

 

Just please do not wire your sub and components on the same amp unless you get a 5 channel

 

Haha don't worry, I've been in the speaker game before. I'll be running a mono-block amp for one 10" sub and a 4-channel amp for my component speakers and tweeters.

 

Mines a little over that but I love it crystal clear vocals. Bass is moderate. Obv no great lows but mids and highs are great. Good for me

 

Yeah, I used to want a lot of bass back in high school. Now I just want everything to be nice and clear sounding. Hopefully the stock speakers with a new head-unit will hold me over for a little while...

Doesn't look too bad...but I hate gold, so we'll see how long it lasts in this color. At least it's fairly close to my color and light enough that it won't get super wicked hot in the Florida sun.

The guy I bought it from had it on a green DC, so obviously he was the second owner. He didn't know the brand because it's got no identification on it that I can see. The windows had been blacked (literally) with black paint by the original owner...so I talked him down a bit on price because of the work I'd have to do to get it where I would like it window-wise...I'd like to see out of them at least some.

It's a pretty good model with two locks on the rear hatch, carpeted interior, third brake light, and interior light. I've only seen one set of black/red wires though...wonder which light they're for.

Overall I'm happy, I've got a weather proof cover over the back of my truck and also pretty secure...so it's all good.

Finally finished the carrier. It's in primer dying but here it is

 

I was driving down the highway this morning and noticed some vibration & a strange noise coming from the driver's side. Before I could pull off to investigate I noticed a roaring sound accompanied by violent shaking & a strange odor.

I thought I was going to lose control, but got it over to the shoulder before any major damage occurred. Turns out I was having a blow out, but I suppose it could have been worse...I could've blown a hole in my shorts.

Can anyone recommend some really good upholstery cleaner?

Those corner lights get moisture in them, that's what came on my truck and half the blinker spot is filled:/

Began working on the in cab snorkel mod and got a little carried away haha

 

I bought them a long time ago. Don't remember why. Almost just put them up for sale but figured i might as well try them haha

Benefits are instant torque. None is lost when the motor twists.

Down side are vibes. Although at idle they aren't that bad. For me the worse part is when i pull away in 1st gear. Vibes hit a certain frequency that really rattles the cab in a nosiey way.

yea especially with how much of a PITA these were.

Oh well. Ill leave em on for a while before i decide.
