Yeah, not worried about when its running. I was more curious about the voltage after its been sitting unused for a while.

Running, the meter is indicating 14.2. When I shut it off it drops to 12.8. I just checked it a minute ago and it was 12.6.

Wondering how that compares to others

Does your voltmeter turn on with the Acc or is it direct battery fed?

When i turn key to Acc, it reads 12.2. Then when i turn to ON, it reads 11.9. Then its like 14-14.5 when running. Once i shut off, i get 11.9 and starts dropping from there.

Battery was replaced in the fall

Oh there's no doubt that I'll be getting in the group buy for a front bumper! As long as something drastic doesn't happen that requires money, I will have an Elite front bumper this year! :D

Wow, yours seems to drop off faster than mine. I have not checked with the key in Acc or On tho.

I have two sources of info. the scangauge is set to display VDC in real time but it only works when the truck is running so I am also using a handheld mutlimeter and placing the probes directly on the battery posts.

I wont be driving the truck again until thursday or friday so I'm gonna keep checking it all week to see how much it drops.

A new battery should be at 12.4v. It'll be around 14.1 while running due to the alternator.

It should be around 12 though. How much it drops though will have to d with condition of the battery itself tho.

I've rotated them twice now since I have had them. About 10K miles on them now.
I don't understand the cluttered part. The back doesn't look that much different than yours... Shackles can take some abuse. I watch guys hit them all the time. For us our beds stick far enough back that you will hardly ever hit them anyway. So cutting your bedsides and getting that rear bumper up as high as possible means you will drag less since the very back of the bumper of what takes most of the abuse.
Not sure how they market 1st gen bumpers but I think 2nd gens have made these terms pretty cut and dry. You have the oem bumper, an aftermarket bumper and a high-clearance bumper (cutting the bedsides). For the most part on TW HC means cut bedsides. Sure An aftermarket gives you more clearance regardless, but it isn't high clearance until it's cut.
I'd trust my bumper to tow. I'm pretty confident that it is much stronger than my tow package. Plus my tow package was starting to wear thin from the constant dragging abuse.
Gah! Between you guys and Cameron, I am really wanting to get those Hella 500's now, but the wife would kill me if I do...

The paint is in the mail man. haha. Should be here the 1st week of May. Said it takes 2-3 weeks to process orders, so either the place is super busy or it is a complete pain in the ass to mail lots of spray paint cans. haha
