I was just down there a few weeks ago with the family.

Utterly beautiful views from the campsite:

And, of course, a gratuitous shot of the truck :)

Nice. Last time I was there it had the fog bank like your picture. This time was pretty clear all the way.

Tell me about it. I won't share how much I had to spend this weekend buying only 2500 .22 rounds at the crossroads show. WAY too much.

This is one of the reasons shooting has dropped down on my list of activities. I kind of wish I had bought a .223 now instead of a .22-250.

    Thanks for the info.

Very nice! I have been up there twice and both times saw the total fog or completely clear. Seems like a crapshoot. Took the r1200gs and the "truck" was the wifes Jeep. lol

Love it! A day trip with my F8GS was what finally pushed me into buying the truck - had wanted a taco for a while. Went there and absolutely had to bring the family back for camping.

    Just the basics
I like the blacked out faces and I've got to learn the shooting position that kid is in. They never taught me that one in the Corps.

anyone have suggestions for a camping gear container that is a little beefier than an action packer?
looking for one for cooking gear (traditional coleman stove, small pots/pan-all self contained in the largest pot, propane canister, etc)
and then one for a small backpacking tent, sleeping bag, tarp, other basic base camp stuff)

I have something very similar to this that I found at home depot. I like them a lot, BUT they are volumetrically inefficient to say the least! I need to organise my kitchen box this week and I'll snap some pics of the interior of mine. I had 3, but built a drawer system in the bed so now I only use one.

At some point I will either switch to a Pelican Case or if I can minimize my kitchen needs I would love to make it down to one of these! For me, the more 'storage' space I have, the more crap I bring...

The only disappointing part was all the trash. We packed out two full garbage bags of brass, shotgun shells, broken glass, and random litter in addition to our own trash and I felt like we didn't even make a dent. Very sad.

Here is my mount of the Maggie I bought of CL... It was up high, but now lowered. I also have a Softtopper, that I will mount with an external rack, from USRacks in Madera, CA. for longer trips.
