Lots of people who live around that area will often sit on their roofs, balconies or even just in an open window to watch the race. There are a lot of buildings in the area with roof top terraces, they are common in Boston.

Either way people have been injured and killed. It's a terrible tragedy and I'll pray for them like I do in all tragedies, and know that God will be the strong rock for many involved in this...

Not saying this isn't true, but I'm pretty much done with listening to what the news says on this. I'll wait until the end of the investigation is over, then go over all the stories on it so I know the guaranteed facts.

It's from the Boston globe hours after a scene of chaos. I've in emergency management and when you can hardly get solid info to/from the first responders and management folks, sure as shit you aren't worried about getting 100% answers to the media.
